Just remember folks - the vast majority of these protestors aren't from Ferguson. They've had professional agitators in town holding seminars and training sessions on how to protest, and how to provoke the police without stepping over the line. They want to bait the police or other authorities to action so they can say "See? Police brutality!!" They've even told people at their training sessions that if they're not willing to get arrested to stay in the back.
This is simply a case of those who want a "revolution" pouring gasoline on some embers. Unfortunately, they've picked a flawed case to rally around.

If the people of that area want to keep that kind of stuff out of their community they need to do some self-policing.

And when they do, they'll be called racist and part of the problem. These professional protestors are very good at drawing lines and creating divisions, polarizing communities instead of bringing people together. That's their objective.
I'm not disagreeing with you, I'd love to see the "other side" of Ferguson get some coverage. But that's not as exciting to the media. And if people speak against this "movement" they run the risk of making themselves a target.
