Pelsessed over the fact that team was more relevant than the Rockets have been in 20 years.
Keep dreaming. If you wanna compare competitive playoff series losses, the 09 Rockets lost in 7 to the eventual champion Lakers. No other team took them to 7 games. The team the Pels lost in 7 to lost in the next round. soooo, yea... Horents weren't relevant at all and were never considered "contenders" at any time since they've been in NO.

That is simply false.

They were the 2 seed and absolutely considered contenders that year. They were on the cover of sports illustrated during the playoffs.

The 09 Rockets were the 5 seed and went just as far as the Hornets did...the 2nd round and a 7 game series.

Try to be intellectually honest for once in your troll life.

There were 5 clear contenders that year, the Cavs, Celtics, Lakers, Spurs, and Hornets. Hornets may have been the bottom of that tier, but they were definitely in the tier.

Neck and neck with Lakers in regular season, went 7 with SA. Hard to say how we matched up Bos and Cle but they absolutely could've won the west that year with a couple of breaks. And making the finals certainly means you're a contender
