Who should take offense with Gruber's statements?

Should it be the left who blindly believed all they were fed by the administration and were too burdened by "stupidity" to understand the shell game, or, the right who for quite some time recognized that whether the fees were labelled a tax and regardless of which end was taxed, it would result in increased costs for the People?
Does the left even comprehend that they are the dim bulbs that the administration was counting on?

Obviously the left, but are they smart enough to notice?
Gruber and the Democrat leadership don't think so. They are probably right.

DEMs only take offense that it has been so publicly outed. They knew they were lying.
The DEM voter base don't care - they get something for free. IT's their way of life. They either don't care that they are stupid or they revel in the fact.
Conservatives are not offended - they knew it was a lie and were powerless to stop it - Their only comfort now is in "I told you so."
There may be a few people out there who truly believed the horseshite - perhaps they are offended that the admin was openly laughing at how stupid they are.

I don't think anyone didn't truly know the shell game was going on. The media and leftists can play dumb, but they knew it was a lie.

You think the average dem voter who watches CBS and pays a minimal amount of attention until a month before the election realizes that taxes on companies results in rising prices on the consumers end?

Oh, they weren't playing. It was and is very real what they are doing.

Nobody should be offended. The reality was recognized by a ton of people and repeated over and over again. Nobody truly got tricked, they just chose to believe a more palatable characterization.

Battered wife syndrome.

No. I checked out Mother Jones and its either"this isn't new" or "stupid teabaggers are making a big deal over nothing!"
If lib-progs would admit they had been lied to...or even got pissed about being called stupid then maybe we could work to change the things about our government that piss us all off. Unfortunately, too many lib-progs are opposed to freedom and encourage this sort of manipulation because it allows them to bring about gov control they so desperately want.

There's the rub. No one wants to admit to being made a fool of.

Slightly OT, and i'm sure this was discussed in other threads, but I seem to recall the date on the youtube video being 2013 (the actual youtube date, not the date of Gruber's "confession"). Why is this just now making the rounds?

I wonder about that. I believe Gruber made his comments in front of a friendly audience and had no need to not be forthcoming, yet he still seemed convinced that real ignorance helped his position. In fact he's crediting and praising JohnKerry's ruse with fooling the "stupid."

Let's be honest, the American voter is stupid and doesn't have the patience or interest in trying to comprehend big pieces of legislation. That applies to GOP and Democratic voters.
To some extent, we're getting the leadership we deserve. We voted for Obama, then voted for him again knowing his plan was disastrous. There are no innocent parties here. The American people have a responsibility to know and care about what elected officials are doing, and they simply do not. Then they complain about it. I expect Republicans will respond forcefully, and the public will be turned off by that as well.

I've been amazed that both VB and chubbyTuba have avoided each and every one of these threads like the plague. Remarkable that.

Hold on there just a minute.
There WERE innocent people here - conservatives everywhere saw thru the hoax - they tried to warn people. And they were roundly mocked and/or ignored by the media.
While there are no true innocents in the overall world of politics, the conservatives in this case were truly innocent as far as the disaster that this shite caused.
DEMs are liars - and they are malicious liars. Period.

I don't think the voters are stupid, just lazy and disinterested when it comes to politics.

Jonathon Gruber obviously gets a hard-on every time he insults the American voter, but was his endgame really to fool the American voter? If it was, it did not work. At NO POINT has Obamacare ever enjoyed majority support by Americans. Not at its proposal, not during the time it was being "debated," and certainly not now. Dimocratix legislators were voting for this bill against the wishes of their constituents. If anybody is stupid in this equation, it's the dimocratix congress. They voted for Obamacare, not the voters.
I don't think the question should be who should be offended the most, but who should be the most ashamed.

I'm amazed that anyone thinks of me when I'm not posting. I assure you I never think of you. I don't know you.
As for Grubsr and th ACA, for the 1000th time, I have never been a proponent of this Republican plan which Obama sold out and supported once his own plan wasn't passed.
Just because you mindless sheeple follow your leaders without question, doesn't mean Democrats do the same.
And Chinese Bandit is senile and should be laughed at.
There, you have my comments. Happy?

Unanimous dimocratix votes in the house and senate would be evidence to the contrary.
