What's a reasonable price to pay for a quarter cord of firewood?

a few hours to go find, cut, and stack it .....that's about all Ill pay.

$40 or $50 I'd guess.
My super secret firewood guy will fill your truck bed, thrown in not stacked neatly, for $20 and a couple of Kool loosies.

A chord is about $150-$200 depending on species.

This really puts it into perspective. Someone I know wanted about $120 for a quarter cord, delivered.

A 16 foot trailer filled to the top is approx. a cord, so just keep that in mind as well. Don't get sold a short amount.

A cord should stack tight together and be 4'x8' with all standard 12"-16" pieces.

That's a good approximation. I always liked to make sure my 4X16 trailer had at least a 2 foot tall stack all the way across just to make sure I wasn't shorting anyone on their wood.

It really varies. Some places up here wanted 175 delivered for a half cord. I paid 100 bucks delivered and stacked for a half recently. It was much lower than other places around shreve that i found.

This is the only acceptable OB answer.
