How Did Miles Screw Up Saturday Night? I Don't See It. This Is On the Players.

Everyone is blaming Miles. Why? This is a rebuilding year and we should have beaten the #5 team in the country two weeks after beating the #3 team in the country. But, what massive mistakes did Miles make?
We don't have a QB. Blame Miles for that. Fine. But, we threw 26 times. He completed 8. The playcalls were there. They were not executed. Blame Miles? I guess you can blame him for every single thing that 85 college kids don't do right, but it seems like Trey Quinn should have caught those passes and Alexander should have kept composure and Jennings ... well, you know.
Miles has made a lot of boneheaded mistakes over the years. But, Saturday night was not one of them. I think he coached a great game and his young team should have won. It happens.
I hope the team rallies and puts it behind them. 9-3 and a New Year's Day bowl is MUCH better than 7-5 and playing in Birmingham the day after Christmas or whatever it is.

I remember when bashing the players was a bannable offense.

What a weak retort

People that blame this loss on the coaching staff(especially Miles) are fricking stupid. Then again, this place is littered with mostly people that are fricking stupid.

Germans. Miles almost upset a superior team while fielding the worst starting QB in D1 football, two true freshman receivers and a true freshman at RB

dropped passes and the interception lost this game

I agree with this. Miles has been at fault, but had this team in position to win. The gameplan was good. The offensive calls were balanced. We put the ball in the air over 20 times.
A few plays here and there weren't executed properly. Dropped passes, kick out of bounds, personal foul. Hard to blame Les for these errors.

Maybe you should look up the word "bashing."
Also, stay out of game threads.
I am not "bashing" anyone. I am saying that they are responsible too and they made mistakes that cost us the game. The coaches had them in position to win.
We need more that 10-13 points a game and you can get upset with the whole scheme and what not, but there were no glaring errors by coaches the other night other than usual in game stuff.

I blame him for almost never having a decent passing game

I agree with this statement.

I also agree with this one. I haven't blamed Miles for any coaching decision on Saturday night.

And yet, there are plenty of idiots on here that are. Those same idiots said we wouldn't win another game after we lost to Auburn. Now, we are underachieving because we aren't going to the playoff and winning the National Championship. Fricking idiots.

Is Jennings objectively the worst D1 QB?
That's a serious question - not trying to troll.

Not making any blatant, game-losing errors = passing grade for Coach Miles

The dropped passes, the personal foul, nor the kick off fiasco was on coach miles

when was my last post in a game thread, champ?

Saturday night wasn't miles fault. ( apart from the fact that we can't get adequate QB play ). But that's been the case all year and anyone who expected different against a bama defense that had 2 weeks to prep is ignorant. Just hard to swallow and you hate it for the kids because we played so well and disciplined until 50 seconds left and we wet the bed and gave it back to them.

8-26 passing and we had the lead with 50 seconds to go in the game.

Bingo.
Coaches called a good game...Relative to the scheme we've been running, it was good enough to have should have won

But, he gets no credit for having the lead against Alabama with under a minute to go? A lot of things had to go really right for that to happen. We lost. It is a loss on the record. I get it. But, what did Miles do wrong to cause it to happen?
