How many more games has Miles coached in than Cholly?

Given the increased proliferation of garbage games in recent years, I'd argue loss numbers is likely a fairly relevant comparative metric between the two.

In Charley Mac's day, he got Tulane every year, and if he was lucky a team like Rice, and that was pretty much it for sheer cupcakes on the schedule usually. And even those don't really compare to the complete and utter garbage games we get now -- at least three a year.

Why do people interpret comparing Miles to the winningest coach in LSU history to be a slam?

Seems a pretty apt comparison to me.

I'm 53 and I can tell you that the conference is far tougher than it was when Charlie McClendon was coaching. I think Tiger fans are spoiled especially the younger generation. For some reason LSU fans think we were a big powerhouse. When Billy Cannon played maybe. Les has gotten Tigers to two Natl Champ. Look around how many coaches besides Saban have played in one little less two Natl Champ.

Look. I've got my issues with Miles but, um, McClendon wasn't playing as many games per season nor did he go to as many bowls(because there weren't as many.

Yet, you're evaluating loss totals and not percentages. I mean, sorry. I like some Cholly Mac nostalgia, but your comparison is poor.
