JJ, what can you tell me about Nachitoches Central? Big, fast, type offense, etc. they come to Hahnville this week. Pretty sure they'll be bigger than us, just about everyone is.

JJ can expand on NC but I was at the game against WM this week and have a few thoughts. They are big and led by a very good QB who is tough to tackle and can throw very well. Their defense is very suspect and was exhausted by the third quarter against WM. They certainly have some skill position players but Hahnville should roll in this one.

Thanks. Hahnville wants to run first but really is better suited skill wise to throw this year. First year under Coach Salt and he believes in running but around week 5 went to more passing snd they've been better. Lots of speed on both sides of the ball just no huge linemen. The three losses came from teams with a combined 29-1 record; Rummel in 3 Ot's, Thibodaux by 2 pts, and Destrehan (was 3-0 at half).

Acadiana and Barbe

Acadiana is down. Barbe finished 8-2, but West Monroe destroyed them 50-14 and it wasn't that close.

QB is Houdini. Big, fast, left hander. Very elusive. He escaped WM time and time again to extend drives. Obviously WM shut it down eventually, but NC had some long, time consuming drives. WM only had the ball twice in the first half, well other than a knee to end the half.

Their defense is suspect. WM scored every possession except for taking knees. Zero punts and zero turnovers, I can't remember the last time that happened. Put a spy on the QB and you should win.

Thanks. ESJ has a QB that is elusive, headed to LSU as a DB. Xavier Lewis. After getting behind Hahnville made adjustments and shut him down.

Yes. Acadiana's Oline is just getting healthy, and their losses were not bad. Im hearing they have turnover issues tho.

The NC quarterback is a tall athletic kid. I think his name is Austin Guy.
Once WM started pressuring him, his passes were not that accurate.
They ran the speed option against WM withe some success.

BTW, looked like the NC quarterback got his ankle rolled pretty good against WM.

The number of teams in the playoffs with losing records is a disgrace to the sport. Used to, a 7-3 record may not make it into the playoffs because they did not win their district. Bottom seeds in every class are 2-8, 3-7, 4-6.

Im mad

You do realize that a couple of teams with 5-5 records have gone on to win the highest classification before?

Im fine with a .500 team making the playoffs dipshit. Im talking about a team that failed to win less than half its games. Shouldn't be playing week 11.

here's my thing... how would scheduling be affected every two years if we had a rule where you needed to win 5 games to go to the state playoffs?

yeah in college i know all the crappy SEC teams make sure they schedule 4 cupcakes OOC to be bowl eligible. if we did the same for the LHSAA playoffs, the scheduling would look like that too

Well reintegrate the private with public and this won't be as prevalent. Or reduce the number of teams.
