re: Dr Ben Carson is the first Republican in the ring for 2016 election.

quote:1. I wrote that before anyone had mentioned anything. As did you. So, seems kind of weak.
On issues that relate to his governance? Absolutely not. But this is not about criticism. This is about taking an issue that has nothing with this ability to lead and using hit to determine his fitness for office (or lack thereof). And it is dishonest and despicable. Of course, if we had asked some probing questions of our current President maybe we would have had a different outcome in his administration. Again, President Obama is definitely not a young earth creationist, hence he must be incredibly intelligent and able to effectively lead.
2. Disagree. His young earth and denial of science directly impacts how he leads. If he can deny basic science how can I trust him on more complex science and decisions.
For example, Ebola. I have no idea what his position is, but I prefer that we make decisions based on science rather than fear, emotions, and beliefs.
I don't want some wacko saying X is retribution from god, etc.
3. Dishonest and despicable. Well, based on your relentless attacks on Obama, im going to defer to you as the expert in dishonesty and being despicable.

Before you claim I relentlessly attack President Obama, I would recommend that you provide some proof. It will be a long wait.
The rest of your argument is the typical nonsensical drivel. Parroting a meme. You cannot judge the person as a whole, so you find some perceived flaw that may (may) impact on their ability to lead and focus on that instead.
Pathetic.

Everything is a meme. It is all nonsensical drivel.

You are honestly answering, but again, you are parroting the meme. There are so many more issues that could be brought up about stewardship and leadership, and yet that is the favorite topic to discredit a candidate. Wow.
No, I genuinely believe it. Look I think creationism is a crock of shite, so is ID. But I can accept that you could believe those, and you could delude yourself into thinking it.
Young earth creationism is an entirely different ballgame. I cannot respect your views on other topics if you believe it. What will you do about other science topics? Will you completely disregard evidence? What about other technology topics? Net neutrality. privacy. NSA. These are all issues to be dealt with by our gov't. If you can't conclude the merits of an argument on the data, you might have a problem with these topics.
And what about FP? Same thing.
I am first and foremost an engineer, so these topics are very relevant to me.
eta: the only republican candidate I can see voting for is Paul FWIW. all of the rest are garbage.

From you? Yes. You have put forth no argument and then threw up an unsupported argument that I was relentlessly critical of President Obama.
You are what you are, a Liberal shill who has no abilty to reason on his own.

Eta: here's a link to him speaking at the Prayer Breakfast that got him noticed (28:00 minutes long)
He is very smart, and obviously very knowledgeable and capable at what he does professionally. However, there are subjects important in politics that he knows very little about and he clearly hasn't shown the willingness or aptitude to catch up. He is great on a single subject delivering a speech but he would get torn up in a debate and I sincerely question his ability to handle the unknown.

Thanks for the response. Truly appreciate the honest discussion.
So, something from nothing? Macro evolution? Okay. Yeah, you and I would definitely be on the far end of the spectrum of each other. Fair enough.
And again, we are going to disqualify an individual (though he has never even stated that creation much less YEC is his belief) because he might (might) believe and yet elect a former community organizer who held no positions of executive leadership in the public or private sector. But (I would have to believe) he is definitely not a creationist (YEC or any other).
Sounds legit.
(you are actually a cool dude - thanks for the discussion and the differing viewpoint)

I actually agree with you on all of your points.
Sounds eerily similar to someone who came to prominence based upon a speech he gave in 2004.
Hmmm.

I put up a legit argument about science. Im sorry that it is beyond your ability. I'm sorry that you don't have the ability to put yourself outside yourself and see what is important to others.
Let me help you out. It doesn't matter what I or any other liberal thinks. Carson stands no chance. He isn't coming out of the primaries. I wish he would. That would be some great entertainment and for the GOP much wailing, rendering of clothes, and gnashing of teeth.

Yeah, great try. Fail again.
Demonstrate his unfitness. Not what you speculate (he may or may not believe) but the totality of the person.
Would love to see the posts where I have been critical of President Obama. This should be good. Unless, he is above criticism?
But he definiitely is not a creationist, so he is awesome in your judgement. How is all of the rest of it working out for you?

You are absolutely right about him not making it out of the primaries. No denying that.
Republicans actually attempt to vette their candidates. But you got your guy so you have that going for you.

I never said he was unfit. Nice strawman. Lol
Your view of how things should be looked at is yours. Not mine. Like I said, you can't see outside yourself.
Obama: you suffer some severe cognitive dissonance. And you are replete with strawmen.

I'm worried he will appear too gentle and calm to be a chief executive.
I'm all ears for a non-Christie, non-Bush alternative. I already like Carson.

Or did you mean that the GOP turns their candidates into vettes because of their small wangs?

I thought I put it up but noticed the other day it wasn't correct. I'm on mobile 95% so I rarely see avatars.
Thanks though. I'll get it up soon.
