Small garden inside the "U" of that driveway.

Clear out some of that brush around existing trees.

Pea gravel trail down to a small deck on the river.

What time of year is the best to plant the bushes and trees? Thanks again.

River birch is the last tree I would ever plant, anywhere. The bark peels off and makes a mess. They drop sticks like a son of a gun. I hate River Birch.

The deer come up to the house at least weekly and been wondering if I really want to feed them or not. Thought about a game camera to see what else is out there.

define you property lines with some planting beds or sculpted mulch beds with azaleas and or with perinials google english gardens, stick with your usda zone and go with native things that grow in your area. Trees, Hardwood ones Oaks Maples dogwoods.
You can diy a paver patio out back whatever size you decide to build double it add a pergolia over it maybe a fire pit etc.. and if you decide to put up a fence put a gate in the back toward the greenspace so you can get to that greenspace and maybe a path down to the creek. overseed you lawn in sept and feed it every 3 mos.

Trees should be planted during the coldest months where their growth rate is lowest. This will reduce the stress on the tree and enable it to flourish in its new environment better.

If you're planting them yourself, be sure you don't build up the soil higher than the existing base of the trunk. The tree/bush/plant will die if you do (trees 'breathe' through their bark).

For bushes, I'd imagine similar.
