This reminds me one time when I was at the grocery store. A guy came over to me and asked me if he could help me find anything. I told him I was looking for fresh shallots. So he told me where they were in the produce section. There were only a few, and sort of hidden between bok choy and carrots. I picked out a few and brought them to the register.
The young lady told me how much they would cost, and I paid for them and went home.

Well, that's obviously a lie.

He's dishonest 5% of the time? Or is he dishonest more often than that, and you just agree with what you perceive as lies?

I agree with Rush 95% of the time, but the man is dishonest, and I am, therefore, alienated by him and shan't listen to his program anymore. I prefer to hear the words of a man with whom I disagree 60% of the time but exhibits scathing honesty and conviction, even when his views make me cringe and call him a fricking idiot.
This is just dead on. I have listened to 2 or 3 hundred hours of Rush and I have never heard him take up the side of a Democrat or any of their policies.
Any honest human being agrees with the other side of any debate at least occasionally.

Well, you have to consider the break down of the spectrum. Dems and GOP could be subdivided into two camps each. Dems consist of moderates and leftists. Reps consist of moderates and conservatives.
Rush is a conservative. He blasts GOP moderates all day long. Who on the Dem side should he agree with since there is no such animal as a Dem conservative.

You really think not caring why Zach has listened to his BFF less than usual this week = crap concern for others?
And you're still posting. Still reading. And we'll probably hit 100 before it's over.

The worst is when some parent calls in and puts their 10 year old kid on to talk about how much they love Liberty the time travelling talking horse. And it goes on for 10 fricking minutes.

Yep. The entire week has been one long infomercial.

Rush is a pure ideologue, and I think that is dangerous on both the left and the right. He is an amazing rhetorician and highly intelligent, but he over dramatizes certain events and routinely engages in scare tactics and then turns right around and criticizes liberals for doing the exact same thing. I inherently don't trust anyone that can't find common ground occasionally with the other side. Obama and Bush run very similar types of government but one is the antichrist and the other is a great leader when viewed with his red tinted sunglasses.
In addition, his social views are out dated and the amount of commercials is ridiculous.
With that being said, I agree with his solutions to fiscal and international issues 95% of the time. Take it for what you will.

Did we really make it to the second page without someone mentioning pills or calling him fat?

quote:I hear you, but that's not exactly what I'm getting at. Rush is a registered Republican, and he sides with the party just about 100% of the time. That's perfectly honest. He is open about his political affiliation, and he politically supports his political party. Dandy.
Any honest human being agrees with the other side of any debate at least occasionally.
Here's an example of why he's dishonest:
2000: after the election, the left piped up with the idea that since half the country voted for liberal candidates, he should keep this in mind when appointing his cabinet. bullshite, cried Rush, and I agreed. It was Bush's job to do as he saw fit, and we would have a chance to evaluate him in four years. Tough shite, left.
2009: Rush appears on Leno and brings up ACA. He said the fair thing to do was to allow the 53% of Americans who voted for non-Obama candidates to be exempt from ACA, which is the exact opposite of his stance he took against the left in 2000 and the exact same thing he made fun of the left for doing. As much as I hate ACA, it's the law, it's Constitutional, and we're going to deal with it until we can get Congress to take it off the books (not holding my breath).
Also, I have no problem with someone being insensitive about the deaths of known drug users like Jerry Garcia, for example ("Just another dead doper," said Rush the day after Garcia died), but when you're a drug abuser yourself and you do it, then I say frick you, you fat, hypocritical count.

He referred to Mary Landrieu as "Miss Cute Baby Fat." I've been 1 foot away from Mary. She is not cute, she is not a baby, and she is fat.

You got that stuff from anti Rush sites. Not from listening. The percentage idea was to allow the GOP to allocate a percentage of the govt revenue on their ideas and let the Dems allocate the rest on their ideas and then see which came out more successful.

I truly believe that he would be the biggest liberal talk show host on earth if that's where the political talk money was to be made. Look up his background. He is a promotions and marketing guy. He found his cash cow.

And you couldn't be more wrong. He comes from a very long line of conservative, politically active parents and grand parents. His brother is a conservative author.
