agree completely...but be careful saying that around these parts. the fanboys don't take too kindly to any criticism of the MCU.

they lifted that straight from the comics.
it is still a comic book movie you know.
Comic plots are designed for 12 year olds to buy.
Movie going adults expect a bit more intelligence in their plots.

I don't understand what the big deal is. Everyone has their own opinion. Either you like something or you don't. In all honesty, I thought GotG was way overrated. I guess it was an OK movie, I just thought it was a little too wacky for me. But that's cool, I don't have a problem with anyone who really liked it. To each his own.

Avengers has its problems, but TDKR, despite a couple of decent performances, is a piece of shite at every level. Unbelievably bad.

Could Black Widow or Hawkeye or even any one Avenger single handedly defeat the entire Chitauri army? I doubt it.
Yeah they could have. They could have piloted a B-2 Bomber loaded with nuclear warheads into the wormhole and ejected in a space suit or something as the bombs blew up the army and closed the wormhole.
That's essentially what Tony Stark did in his Iron Man suit.

And for many reviewers to miss the point. On this whole Interstellar discussion, let's not forget The Dark Knight Rises as an 88%. Insanity.
It also appeared on more end of the year Top 10 lists than The Avengers. Many of the issues people have with TDKR are also present in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. This is literally the only message board that believes The Dark Knight Rises sucks as a movie. I can buy the problems people have with it. But to say the movie totally sucked proves you're stupid.

They are both bad movies, Avengers is Transformers Dark Side of the Moon with better acting and TDKR is just a shite cake. Who cares which is better.
People were all about fricking Avengers when it came out, glad to see it finally getting the disrespect it deserves.

TDKR massive issues:
Why the frick did every single cop in the city march into the sewers at the same time?
It took Bruce years of walking with a Cane to remember he had a knee snap device in his basement that easily fixed his issues?
It took hanging on a rope for a month to completely heal a broken back enough to jump and free fall twice with only a rope attached to his back which snapped when he fell?
Everyone just figures out he's Bruce Wayne without much of a problem?
He gave the bat cave to some pussy untested rookie cop with no fight experience and no training?
Why didn't Nolan just kill him?
The terrible background extras in the movie.
The complete and total castration and emasculation or Bane first by Talia then by Catwoman. Got that scene was terrible.
And the stupid frick you at the end of the movie where not only is Bruce alive, but then Alfred, life long mentor, Guardian, parent, father figure, Butler, friend sees his adopted son who he believed was dead and just gets up and leaves.

Batman Begins is incredible. It changed the way DC would approach comic movies. It's actually one of my favorite movies all time.
TDK followed suit up until right after "some men just want to watch the world burn".
After that, the entire series took a nose dive. I can tell you why, even if the issues btw TDK and TDKR were the same, TDK is better.
Batman is ALL about order. Batman "begins". Joker is all about chaos and just shows up out of no where. He's the antithetical batman. He just wants the world to burn. THAT is a great way to literarily deal with plot gaps and I could buy it.
However, when we are introduced to Bane, he is basically a man of order, his order, on steroids. So his actions (and the affected plot therein), NEED TO BE ORDERED AND MAKE SENSE.
Instead we get a jumbled plot that not only doesn't make sense, but is just straight up absurd. Why? Because the plot didn't fit the characters. Nolan was still writing as if the Joker was the villain - which leads me to believe Ledger's death ruined the trilogy.

Has anyone ever debated or contradicted this. It's absolutely true.
That's why I think everyone, my self included, was hoping for the riddler to be in this the last movie. You get a villain who likes to play mind games and can be very dark without having to recast Joker with another actor.

I liked the TDKR in spite of its many flaws but I don't understand how people can hold it up as brilliant. Frankly it ends up being a popcorn movie after setting its sights much higher. There's nothing wrong with that, but I don't think it was the intended product. The Avengers knows what it is intended to be and executes that pretty much to a tee. For the most part if you didn't enjoy the Avengers you either don't like the fantasy action genre or prefer the DC universe so much that you can't enjoy a Marvel product
I agree, but I would say there is something wrong with that. It makes the movie uneven and weird.

No one has but some will say that the movie should be forgiven for that. It's happened in these discussions before.
Like it makes the movie "less terrible." No, it's still a below average film.

So defend different strokes and the idea that people aren't weird for liking something different, OR call them fanboys and set up unrealistic parameters around someone liking a film?
Or are you saying that people aren't weird for liking DC movies over Marvel, but people who like Marvel movies over DC movies are fanboys?
Reason #345 why this discussion is so hard to have, no one is consistent because defending or attacking becomes way more important than discussing.

Completely agree. It's impossible to have a normal discussion because someone would rather call you a Marvel fanboy, or a comic nerd, or a cynical critic than discuss the actual points in a post about movies.

Definitely just a most part, because I enjoy most Marvel movies, Avengers isn't one of them.
