What has to happen in order for LSU to make the playoffs?
We have to win out and hope the ALL of the following happens:
Miss. State: dropping their last 3 games to: (in order) Alabama, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss
Ole Miss: lose one of their last 3 conference games (Auburn, Miss. State, or Arkansas) [LSU owns tiebreaker against Rebs]
Auburn: dropping 2 of their last 3 conference games (TAMU, Georgia, and Bama)
we need A LOT TO HAPPEN...and that's all just to win the Conference, but win the SEC and we're in.
Let's get to work this weekend against Bama and hope (somehow) the rest falls into place.

I was discussing this the other day with some friends. I don't think it will ever happen but it's fun to "what if" since we got so lucky in '07.
Remember, you have to get to 4 instead of 2. There are currently 2 undefeated teams (not counting marshall) and 15 1-loss teams that I feel we would not jump if they remain with 1 loss. However, there are 11 games between those one loss teams. Not counting conference championship games.
Yes, we have to get to ATL - and Mississippi St still has 2 games against those 1 loss teams. But let's assume they stay undefeated and go to ATL. FSU isn't going to lose twice - so assume they're in. Now you need 14 of those 1 loss teams to lose. Again, a lot of them are guaranteed to be weeded out in the head to head games - and with the assumption that LSU wins out, Bama is taken care of.
