Album is incredible. Even better than Red. In one week, she will likely outsell all other albums for the whole year(including Beyonce).

what other gems would you recommend?
maybe some britney spears? a little beyonce? how about some christina?

does shitting on other people's music tastes make you feel like a big man, doc? is it an inferiority complex you have, brah? must suck.

Nah, Beyonce's album was decent. You mad that hipsters don't have a monopoly on all the good albums?

Agree! 1989 is fantastic.
I preordered the deluxe edition from Target and glad I did, Wonderland is probably my favorite song on the album and it's a target bonus track.
I knew it was solid after Out Of The Woods and Welcome To New York, and then the great reviews that hit. Blank Space is so great too.
She did such a great job, I'm pretty sure she could pull off about anything, she's amazingly talented.

Ive never downloaded or purchased a TS song.
But
Ive never heard a TS that wasnt catchy as shite, and i rarely change the radio if it comes on. Girl made a deal with the devil.

I've just never understood why its cool to like basement dwelling losers writing cryptic, depressive lyrics, but not musicians who come from much higher social circles. Sure, I understand why somebody might not like the concept of bimbos without great musical talent like Katy Perry who are just a front for musical geniuses like Max Martin.
Just because girls happen to like it too doesn't make it any worse. The amount of talent that goes into a Taylor Swift album(world's best collaborating song writers/producers/sound engineers/studio musicians/equipment) just blows away that of random collections of 5 friends who used to smoke pot together and decided to start a band.
You can say that you prefer that kind of artistiness, but I don't see whats cooler about that. For the record, my favorites albums are typically by less popular artists. I just don't see why this board only takes things seriously that aren't popular. You don't see the movie board shitting on any high budget movie that teenage girls happen to like.

Hah. There's actually a raging battle on the Stereogum comments section about the amount of love they (and pitchfork) are giving Taylor Swift's new album.
It's actually turning into a pretty good discussion about the place of "indie/hipster" music blogs in selecting the music they choose to review or promote. I mean do we or Taylor Swift really NEED a supposed independent music blog promoting her when the mainstream is doing a remarkable job? The opposite viewpoint being that not giving copy space to someone like Taylor Swift ignores a very important album this year that IS of high quality.
Anyway, in at least half of the "hipster" music world it's actually cool to like stuff like Taylor Swift right now.
Heres the 'Gum premature evaluation of the album. The comments section has the raging debate:

The Message Board Hater persona:
Random Dude: That was an awesome goal. Best I've ever seen.
Monster Ballads: Soccer sucks man, Full of figs.
Random Dude: It was Gretzky Man. Hockey. Legendary stuff.
Monster Ballads: Hockey sucks man. Full of figs.
Some people live to hate. I can't name a Taylor Swift song, but I don't feel compelled to trash it to validate my sense of cultural and aesthetic superiority. You hyper-critical ladies need to lighten up.

Dude, it is a message board. There will always be hate. In this particular instance it is a sports-based forum so the jock mentality is already in place.

yep. it's right up there with dark side of the moon and sgt pepper.
but yeah, I think stereogum has jumped the shark a bit promoting taylor swift. it's like it's super edgy to like radio pop now or something.

Tracks I'm digging the most right now are:
I Wish You Would -Havent met anyone who didn't have this in their top 3 so far
Blank Space -The most popular that hasn't been released as single. Great pop song.
All You Had To Do Was Stay -Wasn't the biggest fan at first, but its growing big time. Fun as shite
Style -Catchy melody
This Love -her slow ballad from this album.
Style -great closer.
