This won't let me stream Showbox so I'll stick with my Chromecast. I don't see the big deal with a remote. I'm usually around my phone or tablet anyway.

does it allow you to cast browser based video, like bosscast, and have it actually look good? thats usually where these sticks fail.

I have a 3 year old phone and by the end of the day it's battery is on it's last legs. And sometimes I may want to keep playing solitaire while I pause the TV to answer the phone (land line). A remote lets me do that. What does happen to a Chromecast if someone calls your cellphone? Does it automatically pause like my podcasts do? Do I need to answer the phone then go to the app to pause it?

It's not that it's a big deal, it's that a remote is better for me and I already have all the streaming services I need with my PS3 so I would consider losing the remote by switching to a chromecast a downgrade (although the screen casting would be cool).

Are you sure? It's advertised as mirroring android tablets and allcast basically supports everything ever made.
