Fox News vs MSNBC
So basically, MSNBC and Fox are flip sides of the same coin, but unlike liberals, conservatives seek news which reinforces their previously held belief systems. Liberals look for more moderate options. Not surprising.....especially when viewing it through the lens of the cartoonish conservative characters on the Poli forum.(you know who you are )

MSNBC is the liberal cable-news outlet; Fox News is the conservative cable-news outlet. As the chart above shows, liberal-thinking people do not reward MSNBC for advancing their views on air; conservative-thinking people highly reward Fox News for advancing their views on air. In the words of the Pew study: “When it comes to choosing a media source for political news, conservatives orient strongly around Fox News. Nearly half of consistent conservatives (47%) name it as their main source for government and political news, as do almost a third (31%) of those with mostly conservative views. No other sources come close.”

. And here’s a downer for morale at the “Lean Forward” network: As many moderately liberal respondents reported relying on FOX NEWS! as reported relying on MSNBC.

Basically because the other "more moderate options" are also liberal in slant
People have confirmation bias. Color me shocked

And 80% of professed liberals get most of their news from MTV.

LOLOLOLOL. Yeah, um, moderate isn't anything remotely close to what's on MSNBC.
The reason Fox News resonates with conservatives is EVERY OTHER news station covers the same old shite and have the same caricatures in different suits / pant suits.
Heck, it's the same reason liberals watch as well. Same shite on all the other networks.
But at the end of the day, all of them do the same thing: cater to their base and warp the minds of those who partake.

The fact that liberals honestly believe socialism / marxism works is the reason I can never take them seriously.

Are you really trying to argue the majority of news outlets aren't liberal leaning? Really? They may be more "moderate" than msnbc, but that doesn't make them moderate.
So basically, the article proves that those with more options to news outlets tht at least marginally cater to their views spread their viewership out more. #shocked

If you mean a libertarian who never watches the news, then yes, you got me pegged.
I take that back. I watch all of them the night of elections to be entertained.
But I never watch for serious news because none of them report the news anymore.
It's their version of the news. Interpreted by producers who need to sell ads for their advertisers.
Check out James Altucher. He has some good inside info into news organizations as he used to work for them.
The news is a waste of time

Are you suggesting that MSNBC presents facts?
Because if so, you need to wear a retard helmet.

I am arguing that, compared to either MSNBC and Fox, all those channels are extremely moderate just by the sheer nature of their distance from the extreme boundaries set by those two channels. If you were to quantify this visually on a thermometer with MSNBC at 0 and Fox at 100 I think most other news channels would be hovering between 45 and 55 visually.
Given this, I would argue that anyone who uses either Fox or MSNBC is knowingly selecting a news source that is provably more deceptive and false in order to further reinforce their previously held belief system. If you choose 100 degree Fox because ABC News sits at 45 and is therefore slightly left leaning, you are making a choice not to be informed, but to be further indoctrinated.
That is unless you want to argue that MSNBC is at 0 and major cable networks are at 10/15.....in which case you're likely a partisan hack who has fallen for a redefinition of the "center" and are probably beyond hope.

Good god man. MSNBC is garbage. Im suggesting that people who watch either channel are not looking for news but reassurances regarding their world view. But, it just so happens that liberals dont really watch much NBC while almost half of conservative watch Fox.
