Same score I predicted on TD a couple days ago.
Why Ole Miss Might Win:
Going to LSU is about as crazy as it gets, but for being a young team, the Rebels are very business-like and very strong at blocking out the outside noise. The Rebels had to deal with the largest crowd for any football game in the history of Texas – close to 111,000 at Texas A&M – and it ripped off a 21-0 first half lead like it was going through a light scrimmage. How do you stamp out crowd noise? The defense has to rock, and the run defense isn’t giving up a thing, holding Tennessee to a grand total of zero yards on 28 carries last week, and not allowing 200 yards rushing yet this year. Alabama was stuffed for under four yards per pop, and Boise State and Texas A&M didn’t do anywhere. LSU’s passing game is improving, and it’s efficient, but the offense has to run the ball to win. It’s not going to be able to do that.
Why LSU Might Win:
Ole Miss isn’t living on turnover margin, but it certainly helps when the defense comes up with 20 takeaways and turned it over just ten times. The Rebels aren’t making a slew of big mistakes, and neither are the Tigers. LSU turned it over four times against New Mexico State, and haven’t given it up more than once in any other game. Last week against Kentucky was the first time all year LSU didn’t come up with a takeaway and lost the turnover battle, and it was only -1. If the LSU defense can hold down the Rebel offense and not keep it from getting up early, and the O doesn’t make a slew of errors, this should be close.
What’s Going To Happen:
The Ole Miss defense will pick up the slack for a mediocre day from the offense. LSU will try running the ball, it won’t work, and then the passing game will have to kick in – which is exactly what the Land Sharks want. This Rebel secondary feeds off of desperation.
Prediction: Ole Miss 31 … LSU 13

Congratulations. You will both be wrong.

Seems reasonable. And just when I was starting to sip the Koolaid.
I just don't see the LSU offense doing much of anything in this game.

Have you noticed how often these guys are wrong? Not saying you can't be right but comparing yourself to them isn't a great benchmark IMO. LSU> than UT and aTm on defense and has a better running game than either of them.

Well that's that everybody.
Might as well stay home and avoid the traffic.

I think they will test the waters on the run but I think the staff knows they have to pass to win this game..
So will see passing, because we have 2 loses, you will see a more aggressive style of play

Well shite. They've been spot on with both the Kentucky and Fla. picks. We're screwed.

Wow... I'm selling my tickets and not going. What's the point, they don't need to play the game, it's hopeless.
Damn, I really wanted LSU to win this game. Damn.

Looking at the stats, the disparity between lsu's run game and the rebs run defense isn't as large as the media is making it out to be. I think Vegas knows this too. When lsu runs for 100 yards, the tigers don't lose often. Jennings won't have to be as big of a playmaker as I initially thought.
Special teams is an lsu advantage imo.
Ole miss has shredded chavis in the last 2 meetings. Let's hope he gets that nailed down this weekend.

I don't see Ole Miss scoring 31 but the 13 for LSU is probably about right.

Stadium 80% empty at half

(1) [Apart from NMSU, LSU hasn't] given it up more than once in any other game. (2) LSU will try running the ball, it won’t work
(3) Prediction: Ole Miss 31 … LSU 13
(1) is if things go well for LSU, at least the part that says "this should be close". In addition to some possible defense and special teams contributions, I think we can run the ball really well; and in recent weeks, we've added more variation to the running game. LSU might also win if some of the 10- and 20-yard passes are made possible with good decision-making and a varied running game. The passing game has been admittedly weak, but like with Mett against Alabama two years ago, I think it's due for a decent game. And let's not forget LSU did pass for 341 yards against Mississippi St.
I know we don't want to get down like that again, but those 341 yards probably would have been enough to win the game had LSU managed to punch the ball in the end zone rather than falling a yard short.
I certainly don't think Mississippi St. didn't know we would be passing late in the 3rd and in the 4th quarter, and we still got those yards and points. If we don't fall behind like that, Ole Miss won't necessarily know when a pass is coming rather than a run.
I don't accept (2) at all. I don't know who Elijah McGuire is, but he plays for ULL and he ran for 66 yards on 10 carries. They ran for 197 yards overall, and that was with 30 pass attempts. If our running attack is worse than ULL's, we should be winless in conference.
Vandy didn't put up as many yards, but one RB ran 18 times for 95 yards. Temple, by contrast, held him to 70 yards and Vandy as a whole to 54 yards (I guess after sacks were subtracted).
I think (3) is realistic though. We could get yards on a few drives, stall around the 30 or 40 and struggle to put any points on the board all night. On the other side, Wallace can have a really good night and lead the Rebels on four or five touchdown drives. Our defense will not be able to keep up if our offense has few if any sustained drives.

reasonable and plausible. I am hoping for an exception to reason - Geaux Tigers!

All of their points seem to point to the following: Alabama got caught off guard in a rebuilding year, they beat up on an overrated aTm team that has zero defense, and forced a mediocre Tenn team to beat them through the air.
I just don't think this game is David vs Goliath.

I'm predicting LSU will shock folks in this game. I believe they will play far better than most expect.
