No, they are as bad as we are.
No they aren't. Turn on a bama blowout game in the 4th qtr and see for yourself how many fans are still there. Then compare that to the 4th qtr of every game this year in TS

I actually have no dog in this fight in terms of people leaving early. In the end, unless you're going to force people to stay, they will do what they want...and that's fine by me. Unless and until your leaving means I also have to leave, it's literally no effect on my enjoyment...so have at it.
Now...I WOULD like LSU to maybe set up some sort of system by which they scan tickets after the game and you accumulate points for each game your ticket stayed until the end of the game. Those ticket holder that routinely stay until the end could then have their names placed into some sort of lottery for the ability to purchase away game tickets or bowl game requests...sort of fan appreciation.
If you stayed until the end of Troy, or BAMA in 2002...Florida in 2001...etc, you deserve something.

Sounds nice but as you and I know both know, money talks

In 2007 and 2011. Ok I will concede that. Congrats. In 2 of our best years ever when we were playing some of the most entertaining football ever against quality opponents in Tiger Stadium, people stayed longer than they did compared to when we are unranked and playing Kentucky. Hell, let's add 2003 to the mix.
In 2009 LSU was (ranked 9th) coming off a loss to Florida. The Tigers welcomed a two loss Auburn team who just lost their last two to Kentucky and Arkansas.
Late into the third quarter the Tigers were up 23-3 and this was the scene after Ruseel Shepard scored his first TD as a Tiger:
Are you ready to admit that it hasn't ALWAYS been this way or are you going to throw out more excuses as to why this game was another exception?

No doubt...and I'm not suggesting higher donors do not deserve first shot at tickets.
They do.
I also think alumni ought to have preferential treatment or earn points at a higher rate than non alumni...and I say that as a life long LSU fan but an alumnus of another state school.
I think a third tier could be a reward system for ticket holders that stay the whole game. The OP wanted suggestions for helping...maybe this could help.

It's gotten more pronounced, no doubt. Fans leave earlier and in greater numbers than ever before. It's not even debatable. Reasons why? sure...though the most obvious ones have been talked about here.
It's almost funny the past 2 seasons watching fans stream out regardless of the weather, score, opponent, etc. The only exception I can think of was BAMA in 2012.
Like I've said...I no longer give two shits about it, but it's gotten much more obvious very recently.

We must have been going to different Tiger Stadiums throughout the years then. In blowouts, it's the same it has always been

I agree with you there...it doesn't necessarily bother me that much. I mean, I don't like it and wish it wouldn't happen, but then again I want a double standard because I want/need to leave early more frequently now (married, father etc.).
When I was a student, you could not pull me away. Before my wife and I had our daughter, you could not pull us away (yes, we even stayed till end of Troy in 2008), but now with our daughter and as some other interests of mine have changed through the years even I am probably less invested than I once was. I'll admit, it is due in part to the product on the field.
What does bother me is when people pretend that those who acknowledge it are either making it up or are exaggerating how much worse it has gotten.

You're incapable of saying you were wrong. At first I thought maybe you just didn't like it. Now, I don't think you're even capable of it.

Take their tickets away if they leave early seems to work pretty good.

Show me the last time we were unranked and beating the crap out of another unranked team in the 4th and nobody was looking for the exits

Your pics stop in the 3rd quarter where we put the game away. Also Auburn is more than a rival than the pushover that most people have come to think Kentucky is. Finally, if you look at the 4th quarter footage there are huge plots of vacant seats with 14:15 left on the clock. So yes it happened in that game as well.
People leave because the buzz wears off in most cases. Who wants to party for 8+ hours then stop for 4 and lose their buzz? That compiled with the fact that people can go back to their tailgates with their generators, HD TVs, and be with all the people they have been tailgating with all day. That's not the case in the stadium. Most people who group up and tailgate together do not have the luxury of sitting together.
The stadium experience is being over taken by the HDTV. You get a better view for your buck and you have a way more comfortable seat. Too many people are choosing this route and now with the ease of viewing through so many mediums it's a lot easier to pop up a TV with the feed of the game in the parking lot. It's no longer struggling to view the game on bunny ears on CBS (when they were broadcasting it).

Those Auburn pictures tell the story to me. This fanbase is just whipped. 1/9/12 put us to our knees, then right when I thought we would get back up as the BAMA 2012 game would have healed most of the wounds, it actually landed the death blow. That is honestly what I think happened

23-3 isn't putting the game away? Last weekend, the fans certainly thought so. And last year vs Auburn, they certainly thought so.

Not to the degree that it happens now; that is the point.
Saying it has not gotten worse is choosing to be ignorant.

Reduced seating capacity is the only sure-fire way to solve this problem.

quote:Yep. 1/9/12 got us seeing stars, then Bama 2012 put us to the canvas as a fanbase. If we can beat Ole Miss at home and Bama at home this year I think that will be enough to bring it back hopefully

"Fans" don't care about the game anymore. It is all about the tailgate and being seen so they can post on Facebook.
Don't even say anything about traffic. What stadium have you gone to and left after the game that did not have traffic?
This is the answer.
