My mom's dog ate chocolate

My mom called. Her mini-doberman got into her Milky Way. It was sitting on a medium high shelf. Dog snuck and got it when she was cooking she said.
She lives way out in the sticks so no emergency Vet Hospital nearby. I went over and checked the dog out. Seems fine. Ate 3/4th of a 1.76 bar. I feed the dog again and hope it's enough to push the chocolate through.
Any advice or is this dog dead?

The dog is going to be fine

That's an old wives tale. Unless the dog ingests an entire jumbo-sized gold ballotin of Godiva, it'll be fine.

Make it swallow a tbsp of peroxide and it will vomit it up. Do a couple of times.
It is what a vet will recommend

My thoughts too. This is going to really hurt my mom. She is a shut in disabled elderly lady and the dog means a lot. I don't know how to break it to her.

Baker's chocolate is very bad, Dark chocolate is pretty bad, milk chocolate is bad, but one candy bar probably won't do any serious damage. How big is a mini-doberman?

Its fine. The darker the chocolate the worse it is.

The dog won't die from a milky way but feeding it more was a bad idea. It'll probably have some stomach issues but it'll pass. Think of it like a human eating 4 day old Popeyes.

what a fricking douchebag you are
The dog will be fine, they have to eat a ton of chocolate for anything to go bad.

Really? Man I hope so. Would the peroxide work though?

He should be fine........we got our neighbor to take our boxer out once when we were gone for a day. We told him to give him a treat off the kitchen counter.
There was a king size snicker bar on the counter........gave him the whole thing. No problems at all.
He was supposed to give him some of Tempe dog treats we left on the counter

It's probably fine. Don't think it works that way.
You can force a dog to vomit with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide diluted with water. Will work fast. But only if it's a short time after it ate the chocolate.

If you are really worried do this. We had one of our labs eat a dead rat. We were worried the rat had been poisoned so a couple sips of peroxide and the rat came right back out.

I saw a dog eat an entire wine glass full of Hershey's kisses and he was just fine.

Oh crap. It was a Milky Way Midnight Chocolate bar.
Dog is about 12-15 pounds I'd estimate.

only dark chocolate is really really bad. Milk Chocolate shouldn't bother it's stomach all that much, he may puke.
But really dark chocolate, like darker than 80% can be fatal .
