Re watching some of the game, keeping seeing recievers open in middle of the field. I don't see many passes to the middle or quick slants this year. I guess that's no longer in game plan.

Jennings is hesitant to throw to the middle of the field. I too noticed quite a few open WRs/TEs down the middle.

He missed a few guys due to his tunnel vision.

There are times on offense that I actually forget that Quinn and Diarse are even out there (Dupre sometimes as well). Malachi missed a nice pass, but he seems to be wasted when Jennings is in there. I'm really surprised we don't try to get Diarse the ball on bubble screens or something really short due to his physical nature on the few passes he has had thrown his way. He can make a short pass into something big. I would almost roll Jennings out any time we want to throw because he is a much better passer rolling out.

We have a 1-read QB. Completions between the hashes are going to be rare, like the one to Dickson in the first half.

1) We're calling passes to the sidelines to avoid interceptions.

2) When guys are open over the middle, Jennings is hesitant to throw the ball. See point #1.

I saw the same thing on both QBs. Neither of them wants to throw into the middle. It seems the pick 6 ghost of 2008 is still haunting someone.

I noticed that too.

And I will say this. There was a qb at LSU that was the same way and couldn't make the 2nd and 3rd read. And I am also saying this is the ONLY thing they had in common. Once he began to make those reads, he eventually became the first overall pick (and worst bust) in the NFL, JMac. I don't even expect AJ to get drafted fwiw, but if he figures out his progressions and can run, he could be really good.

The completion to Dickson was over the middle, however Jennings failed to see wide open guys in the middle or crossing patterns several times. Also beyond me why they called a fade to Diarse on the Harris pick into double coverage. Harris should have checked down on that play. Had two receivers open underneath and in the flat who would have at the very least set up another FG.

Since he's got here his misses have been high. That death for throes over the middle. It's a natural progression for him to get comfortable making those throws. Way to risky to turn it over when you are limited on both sides of the ball. We have to be damn near perfect to beat a good team.
