Such an underrated band. Their two albums are so awesome.
Stones Throw has a bunch of 70s rare regional funk compilations:
Cold Heat
Carolina Funk
Florida Funk
Midwest Funk
Texas Funk

I'd love to join in, but I can't access youtube at work.
I LOVE the entire "Soul Vaccination" live album by Tower of Power.
Stevie Wonder had some great tracks:
"Higher Ground"
"Sir Duke"
"Signed, Sealed, Delivered"
"Superstitious"
Check out Stevie's cover of the Beatle's hit "We Can Work It Out"
"Livin' for the City"
James Brown is the GOAT
"Get Up"
"Say It Loud"
Blood, Sweat, and Tears
"Go Down Gamblin'"
"You Make Me So Very Happy"
"Spinning Wheel"
Billy Preston
"Will It Go Round in Circles"
"Nothing From Nothing"
Bill Withers
"Use Me"
Earth, Wind, and Fire
"Ain't Nothin' Stoppin' Us Now"
"September"
"In the Stone"

If you really want to get nostalgic, but want to hear some original songs, see if you can track down a copy of Hai Karate's album "'Bout Time". Hai Karate is a funk band out of Gonzales, LA that features a bunch of high school and middle school band directors playing 70s funk at a very high level.

Without Funkadelic, this thread is mute.

I think we all know about the kings of funk like Parliament-Funkadelic, The Meters, and James Brown. This is about deeper cuts.

Like Heady said, this thread is about deeper cuts. The music board should be about finding new music to listen to in genres that are cool not just petty beatles vs stones debates and jambland troll threads.
In regards to your post, I have been listening to Funkadelic's albums "maggot brain" and "one nation under a groove". It's okay but I think a lot of the stuff I posted in OP is better.

I'll save this post spot to dump in the good stuff when I'm not waisting money and time getting drunk for this LSU game

Jam band threads are about a lot more than trolling Burt. I guess you just don't get it

The Meters or GTFO.
By the way, good call on Grant Green. One of my all time favorite guitarists.
He and Bill Withers are probably two of the most underappreciated artists in American music history.

Agreed. This thread should start and end with The Meters.
