2+2... together? Why are we not quarantining West Africa?

We've all been wondering why our dear leaders haven't banned flights from Sierra Leone and Liberia. It makes no sense, at least to those who would like to contain and combat Ebola.
The CDC and all in charge of keeping us safe are not taking what everybody knows to be the proper steps for getting rid of Ebola. Why? Is it absolute incompetence, or something else?
I just remembered this little gem dropped by none other than Bill Gates. As we all know, Gates is a huge Progressive. Progressives think there are too many humans on Earth. In that video, Gates talks about dropping the human population by 15% "if we do a good job."
Well, Ebola can do their job for them. With the repetitive botching of containment by our public health officials, one has to wonder why. Some think it's political correctness. Some think it's incompetence. I'm starting to think otherwise.
What say you?
ETA: I'm not like Farrakhan who thinks that AIDS was invented to kill people, or that Obama's sitting in the White House looking at an Ebola projection map rubbing his hands. I just think the mindset makes them think it's not a big deal, causing them to be nonchalant about it.

People in power would rather see other people die horrible deaths than for themselves to be exposed to be called Racist.

Overpopulation is a huge underlying 'root cause' to many liberal thoughts. It's how abortion is justified, although the same thinking by the other side is considered racist.

According to the head of the CDC banning flights from west africa would somehow make things worse. I don't understand his logic.
Little barry is on top of it so no worries.

He said it would hurt their economies - and that it would drive people 'underground.'
And that it would only delay, not cure the problem.
Hell, I'm all for a little delay in the spread - while we work on a cure.

Yea, I heard that explanation as well. Not certain why he thinks people requiring medical assistance in order to prevent death would go "underground."

He can't spell out the logic because it wouldn't go over well. Back in the day AIDS hit Africa and nobody cared. It's what happens in Africa. But when it was spread to the developed world then everyone got motivated to fight it. Therefore, it was necessary for lots of Americans to die from AIDS to mobilize our medical forces against it's spread.
Similarly, there have been Ebola outbreaks in Africa years ago. Lots of Africans died. Nobody in the US or Europe cared. But now there is a breakout. In the minds of the CDC leader we need for lots of Americans to die in order to mobilize our resources against it. But he cannot say that into a microphone.

Probably because people would just come in by boat or land instead, making it even harder to track them and exposing them to even more individuals en route??
Just a thought.

How does one get from Liberia to the U.S. by land?
Posted on 10/16/14 at 12:25 pm to Zach
And if they came by boat, they'd be dead by the time they got here.

Exactly what boat are they coming in from? Do we not have homeland security that monitors the docks? You know, the same homeland security that Obama has applauded the secretary for doing a bang up job?

If we do a good job with reproductive health services... As in birth control so these poorer countries slow their birth rate.

From my Ann Coulter thread:
quote:
It's becoming increasingly clear this is just another platform for Obama to demonstrate that we are citizens of the world. The entire Ebola issue is being discussed -- by our government, not the United Nations -- as if Liberians are indistinguishable from Americans, and U.S. taxpayers should be willing to pay whatever it takes to save them.

Travelling those routes would greatly increase the incubation time for anyone infected, thus making them more noticeable once they hit the border. In that light, that's just another reason for the OP's idea.

1. Fly to Mexico.
2. Cross border into U.S.

Well we know they are not coming by land and if they came by boat they'd probably died of Ebola before they arrived here.

Forced population control of black countries? And you lefties call conservatives racist.

For banning flights to be effective, you'd have to ban every flight from every country.
Most people who fly here from Africa do so from connecting flights. So then you'd have to ban everyone who has been to Africa for the past month from any country.
But if they're flying to other countries, they're exposing people from those other countries and they can fly here with no problem.
If blood transfusions from survivors work, and it has for the cases tried, this won't be the deadly disease elsewhere that it's been in Africa.

Who said forced? Providing education and the pill works.

Wait, Obama and you liberals are saying the border is secure. And they know who is crossing the border. And that anyone trying to cross the border, like ISIS, is a ridiculous notion.
Your support of these clowns, and your thinking in general, is completely laughable. You keep making excuses for this frick up by Obama, and you are DAILY being shown to be foolish by the news.
This is what happens when you play politics with a deadly virus.
