BB24, U seem like a decent enuf fella altho never wrong.
Serious question. Why do u hate him? What really is it?

The facts are Miles has been below average on recruiting/Developing QB's, speaking w/ the media and has been embarrassing on game day a few times.

I understand after 10 yrs this is what u got and u will run with that until further notice. With all the stuff youve said about him and u can never be wrong what else can That 101,233rd post is stating the most important fact. And when u add in: no major sanctions, NFL Pipeline and high graduation rates some more facts, U must ask for at least the 101,233rd time as well Who's doing better at their job description? Who could do better, Where is he, what's his name? Would he come, would we offer?

When u respond, I will stop reading at the but....

Let it go bro,we all did. It's fun cringing and chuckling after the game.

Quality post. Of course the 101,223rd time is an obvious joke. To be honest, most people that I converse with in person (whether they be friends, acquaintances, or complete strangers) seem to echo my feelings on the subject. So first of all it's a little weird to be on a forum that suggests otherwise. Do people publicly deject Miles and secretly support him? Have the blatant mistakes with clock management and gameday coaching been forgotten? This guy makes 5 MILLION dollars a year and he doesn't even know the rules of the game clock. It's a little hard to move past this. It's sort of like having a lawyer that doesn't understand the statue of limitations law, or a doctor who doesn't know where your kidney's are, or an ENGINEER that doesn't understand a pump curve. It just makes it difficult to believe in a coach, lawyer, or doctor when they don't know these basic things.

With that being said, I along with many other tiger fans have almost become meh about LSU football as a whole. It's part of the reason that the stadium is empty after halftime. Yes, many fans are simply in it for the social event....but (my first and only but) even more (I believe) are just tired of the bullshite from Miles.

Then why not go after a QB that is ready? I mean send someone across the country looking for a guy, juco, transfer, senior, or even a walk on that can come in and get it done. There has to be someone out there that can come play for LSU and is ready to go??? Look for a Matt Maulk or like the Kentucky QB. There has to be someone out there that can lead this team and get it done while we wait for these guys to get ready. You just have to look, it's the most important piece of a team IMO. If you have a solid OL, DL, and QB you will win lots of games. With this team if we could get these positions playing at a high level every year we would compete for ships yearly.

except for that SEC record LSU broke just last year. nice memory you got there.

you've been embarrassing the hell out of yourself the last couple of days. maybe its time you took a break

Mettenberger is remembered fondly on this board as one of the greatest QBs to ever wear the P&G, while Jordon Jefferson, to many, may have been the worst QB to play college football. However, lets compare some numbers, specifically Jefferson's 2009 season v. Mettenberger's 2013

Now I think most would agree that the stats/performances against the "cupcake" opponents really aren't that significant. The merit of an LSU (or SEC) QB is judged upon what he does against conf. and power 5 opponents. So lets take the cupcake games out. Also, Mett didn't play in a bowl game in 2014, so to do an apples-to-apples comparison lets just look at the 9 relevant opponents LSU played in each season.

2009 Jefferson (excluding games against ULL, Tulane, La.Tech and PSU)

142 - 230 62% 182 YPG 12 TDs 4 INTs

2013 Mettenberger (excluding games against UAB, Kent St. and Furman)

147 - 235 63% 245 YPG 11 TDs 6 INTs.

When looking at it that way doesn't the question have to be asked: Was ZM REALLY that good in 2013? In the games that mattered, Jefferson in 09 and Mettenberger in 13 were essentially equal. The only noticible difference is that ZM avg. roughly 60 more yards passing per game. The completion % though is basically the same, and Jefferson threw for more TDs and less INTs. Also, in 2009 Jefferson was a True Soph. with only two starts coming into the season. In 2013 Mettenberger was a 5th year Sr. with 13 starts coming into the season.

I don't see why we don't spread the field more and then run. Especially down around the goal line.

This is exactly what I've been saying for years..... I just do not understand why LSU doesn't do this with the offense?? It doesn't have to be complicating, or a plethora of formations and plays. You can run many diff plays from one formation and confuse the heck out of a D. You can simply change personell to make the formation a little diff and run PA, draws, flat passes, involve your TEs, even QB draws work when the D knows you're doing something else you know. You can run at a fast pace and catch a rhythm also, with that comes confidence and your QB suddenly gets better, so does the rest of the team. Now once your offense gets going your D wants to go out and make plays also and aren't as scared to give up a big play here and there to play faster, remember the big long plays are harder to complete. Les needs to put these guys in game situation plays at practice, special drills to put pressure on them at all positions, so that when game time comes it's not the first time they pass the ball or catch the ball with people flying by them. Practice with the quickest, most shifty guy you have on the practice team for the D to take the correct angles and tackle correctly with people trying to block them not just wide open but with players in their way. These special drills will help! LSU has to change stuff up when preparing bc we can't just wait until everyone is junior and seniors to perform at a high level. These guys can do it if they are prepared the right way. Anyway I wish the best for them and hope les can figure this thing out soon. We need these guys to play better and not just a gut check but on a schematic level. Change/try something else Les on top of what you normally do. GO TIGERS!!!

I was also OK with him sitting out @UF on a hobbled ankle. I'm NOT for Harris getting 100% of the reps, nor do I think Jennings should handle everything from here on out either. As of now, neither one is really an SEC caliber QB if we're being honest with ourselves.

Harris is but hes injured. Jennings obviously isnt. 2 ints versus new mexico st isnt sec caliber.

Yeah, I said he's injured. And I haven't seen concrete proof that RIGHT NOW he's SEC caliber. It's quite clear that he has the most upside of the two, though.

Did you read my post? I said he isn't SEC caliber at this moment. Unfortunately, he's likely our best chance of winning games RIGHT NOW.

2 specific things that I think could bolster Miles' power-running philosophy:

1. Involving the TEs more in the passing game.

Agree - THROW the ball to the TE.

And not as some 'event' or 'happening'; just make it a regular part of the O.
