Are they using just state pay or are private funds like TAF included in that?

Bingo

Graphic is extremely misleading.
Coaches salaries are generally paid by athletic departments (and private booster foundations) that have huge revenues and donations. Their salary is not directly supported by the university (public funds).
To lump them in with other gov't employees is flat out wrong.

Les only gets 300,000 from the state so I'm thinking this graphic is wrong

Who in the state public sector makes more than $300k?
Posted on 10/15/14 at 9:37 am to GeorgeReymond
You could just go to the state's website and see for yourself.

What state employee makes more than $300k?
Think about it, there aren't many if any in LA.
and before you start naming all kinds of docs from state hospitals, they generate big revenue for the hospitals...which is part of LEs's that you guys disallowed

There's more than you think, most are in academia but Stephen Moret (Secretary of Economic Development) also makes 320K

Les is not even the highest paid person at LSU, if you only factor his direct income from the state.

Yeah, although I see the chart, #2 is Cam Cameron
It may be creative accounting, but all of their money is really Les' money except by taking his from the derived monies in the TAF, it creates the effect that the money going to other coaches is not really Les' money.
Smoke and mirrors, but Les is definitely #1 by a mile.

This. Miles draws a big salary from LSU as a state employee, but the overwhelming majority of his pay comes from Tiger Athletic Foundation.
