He doesn't need to waste his time with this, if he doesn't believe in god. Or maybe he does, then have at it

Try my life:
broke and in debt
black eye after fight
no career prospect
virgin with barely any friends
and there are people worse off with no family friends and living on streets with illnesses
try this: volunteer, or play on a sports team. have kids and get a dog. books and tv shows. teach kids. make new friends and travel. became famous or have hobbies like fencing or railroads. all kinds of shite. wish I had a girlfriend.

My life has been great and still is. But I need a new Ol lady. Dumped her yesterday. Lying count

On another note, I didn't want this thread to be all about diagnosing my current state of mind. Let's get philosophical and shite up in here. I know everyone here doesn't have it all figured out. Open up.
Ok...
My wife is a teacher and overworks herself at her job. She comes home tired and only wants to spend time with our kid. When the kid goes to sleep, she wants to surf the web on her phone, maybe watch a television show, then go to sleep.
During Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring, and Summer break, it's like she's a totally different person. Outgoing, sensual, sex 4-5 times a week, adventurous, ambitious, interested in movies, reads books, exercises, zero stress.
So I've decided that her quitting teaching is my #1 priority...except I'm on fellowship in graduate school. Free degree. No, getting paid to get a degree. The degree will help with finances later on, and without that help, she can't quit teaching.
I'm stuck in graduate school for another year and a half, salivating over what will be my marriage when I finish.
Philosophize that.

What you need to do is build an empire

It happens to a lot of us. Some people like working because it strokes their ego because they feel like a "real man". For others, doing the same shite every day drives us crazy.

If I were you I would compare my current life to the type of life that has commonly been lived by common people since forever.
There's a time for everything.
There's a time for everything.

take your wife somewhere fun for a weekend or all day on a Saturday. Cook her dinner one night and rent her favorite movie. Remind her why you love her so much and that you are very grateful for her workihg so hard while you finish graduate school.
Remember:
Thankful - words
Gratitude - actions
Show her you're grateful and help her remind herself why she is so lucky to have you.

I have a number of hobbies actually, I play the guitar, I hunt and fish, I do photography. I occupy my free time pretty well.
And to the religious responses, I'm not religious at all. 8 years of catholic school will do that to you. That's not gonna happen.

Whenever I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead...
True story.
True story.

Only you can honestly answer that but I can assure you, you are indeed missing something and I bet you can feel it. I'm sure you have a list of excuses though.

You're trapped in a mindset of possessing material happiness. Quit thinking about the past and future and realize the present. Think in terms of now, not later. Slow down, realize you aren't the emotions your mind portrays, and examine life as it happens. Examine your emotions as an outside observer, not an individual.

Sounds like my gf actually, except she's not a teacher and we don't have kids.

Go on a vacation that requires more than renting a room at the beach.
That is some good advice. Especially if you've lived in the same city all your life.

You have too much to do. You need to sit back and contemplate life.
Maybe the Catholic schooling was not the version of Faith you need?

Sounds to me like you have never really accomplished anything on your own and probably been given most of your success. You have obviously never known what it's like to not have money which is why you can't appreciate a good job. Sounds like your a daddy's money pussy that just needs to man up and be thankful! Good luck.
