The damn Chinese will climb a tree to tell a lie when they could tell the truth standing on the ground.

i work a lot with indians, the trick is you have to be able to tell the difference between their yeses. its nuanced but it can be done.

I have also found the turks to be a tad all over the place, not really the turks but everyone from that region seems to be ok lying to your face.

They are always trying to get out of paying their bills or renegotiate a signed contract. I hate dealing with them as well.

A strange looking little Indian man and his assistant started showing up at some of our annual industry meetings about ten years ago where technical papers were being presented.

He claimed to have his own consulting company in India and he asked A LOT of questions, weird ones and really, really specific. His assistant's job consisted mostly of furiously transcribing your answer to his questions and attempting to draw whatever was being shown on the projector screen in real time.

Everybody knew what he was up to.

Our industry has zero trade secrets and if we did, we weren't going to convene an open meeting to tell each other what they are.

Funny thing is, if he would have simply coughed up $75 and joined the association, he would have received in the mail a neatly bound copy of all the papers that were presented.
