All of this isn't really that far fetched.

LSU 2014 SEC Champs

when you think of it, it really isnt, everyone is so equal this year...all you gotta do is get hot at the right time...im still surprised arkansas hasnt won a game yet, they dominated A&M and Bama, i actually feel bad for them, talk about a program going in the right direction....they looked solid running the ball in that Bama game...just need to finish...

I had a similar fantasy/hope, but it doesn't require as many upsets.

LSU wins out, finishes 6-2.
Alabama loses to LSU but wins out otherwise, finishes 6-2.
Ole Miss loses to LSU and Auburn but wins out otherwise, finishes 6-2.
MSU loses to Alabama and Ole Miss but wins out otherwise, finishes 6-2.
Auburn loses to Alabama and either Georgia, S. Carolina or Texas A&M, finishes 5-3.

LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and Miss. St. finish tied for SEC West title at 6-2.

In this scenario, head to head would be

LSU 2-1: (W vs. UM and Bama, L vs. MSU)
Alabama: 1-2 (W vs. MSU, L vs. LSU and UM)
Ole Miss: 2-1 (W vs. MSU and Bama, L vs. LSU)
Miss. St.: 1-2 (W vs. LSU, L vs. UM and Bama)

Alabama and Mississippi State eliminated. LSU and Ole Miss remain.

LSU wins tiebreaker with head to head win over Ole Miss.

This scenario would only require four of what I would call upsets:

LSU over Ole Miss
LSU over Alabama
Alabama over MSU
Alabama over Auburn

None of these would be all that surprising, except maybe LSU over Ole Miss.

I think the SEC Rant would explode if this actually happened.

that is insane...wouldnt it be something if Brandon Harris got hot and we could run the table....

They could do it if they just relaxed, just played the game like they do in the backyard, like you have nothing to lose...

If that happens, it will be the greatest sports miracle since USA beat the Soviets in 1980. Yes, this team could finish better than last year, but will not do so unless it gets MUCH BETTER QB play.

Nuff sed.

I was at the game but might be mistaken, what was the score of the Auburn game again?

come on, people, this year isn't our year. Bad play from the DL and QB. Got routed by MSU and Auburn and barely beat a bad FL team.

Play hard the rest of the year, but don't expect much. We'll probably lose at least 3 more.

Optimism is good, but damn, keep your eyes open.

Not sure I would call a 5 point loss a rout. Sure we got our asses handed to us for over 3 quarters but were a Hail Mary away from winning the game. Much like the Bama game in 2012 where we kicked Bama's arse pretty much the whole game, it only takes a few plays to turn a game completely upside down.

Did I miss where we found a serviceable passing game? We're not gonna be able to just solely rely on the run like we did against UF against Bama, Arky, Ole Miss, and maybe even A&M.

Sorry dude.. We were down 31-10 and MSU shut it down basiacally and started playing a prevent D rushing only three. They could have put up 50 if they had wanted to.

I don't think that winning the West is all that important at this point. Beating the East champ isn't really going to add anything to the West champ's resume. I think the best shot for LSU is obviously winning out but also having MSU win out and Auburn losing another game or two. In that scenario, making the playoffs is possible,, especially considering that there really aren't any crazy good teams outside of the SECW.

I agree they dominated us for most of the game but to call a 5 point loss a "rout" is not true. We had a chance to win the game at the end but couldn't pull it out.

Sounds to me like you watch through negative lenses looking for stuff to bitch about. Personally I watch the NFL to see great skill and execution. I watch college for the passion and emotion of the game. You can pick apart most every college game if you're looking for mistakes and inconsistency.

they dominated us for 57 minutes..."most" is misleading....sometimes mistaken for 75-80% of the time.

Yes we had a chance to win, BUT MSU called off the dogs late in the game....The game wasn't close to what the final score was..... Auburn did not call off the dogs and it showed by the final score.... Anyway.. LSU should win rather easily on Sat night and DOES have a great shot at beating Ole Miss.

Can you specify what you mean when you say "great shot"? 10%, 20%, etc?
