If you were head coach at LSU, what specific actions you would take

for the rest of the season to finish the season strong and set the program up for the future? and why?
*Feed Leonard Fournette the rock 25 times a game. He is a great talent and he is starting to display it in a big way.
*Start Brandon Harris against Kentucky. The next 3 games are at home. It is a more comfortable place compared to a road environment. He is so much more talented than AJ and he really is the future. He has both more upside and downside than AJ, but AJ adds nothing to the table except the deep balls to Dural, that is it.
*Stop the whole offense looking to the sideline thing. It causes delays of game and causes the offense to be even more of a cluster. Call the play and give the QB one possible audible and roll with it for better or worse.
*Keep Beckwith on the field instead of Welter. You already pulled the trigger and it worked, leave it alone.
*Change your punt and kick returners. They are great players, but not in those roles. I am sure there are better options.
*Against Kentucky, pound the rock like you have been, maybe a 70/30 ratio. This is what you are comfortable with anyway.
*Against Ole Miss, switch it up. Pass to set up the run, Freeze and Ole Miss doesn't respect your team and would be shocked by the strategy. If Tiger Stadium can start rocking, Wallace might crumble. The night before the game, rent a movie theater and show the team last year's Ole Miss game from start to the post game celebration.

Hire a Spread Offense guru
Feed LF 20+ times a game
Bubble Screens
Hire Muschamp as D Coordinator at end of season

We need to incorporate some easy passes to get our QBs some confidence.
Just an easy roll out dump off to a TE or a WR bubble screen or a RB flare route or something
We started doing a few of these with Melvin Jones but we need it more consistently with our better athletes
shite, Florida could have done those RB Flare routes for 5 yards a pop all the way down the field if they kept with it.

quote:This. And beyond that have the next play call ready before the previous play ends. If it is 1st and 10 and you call a pitch dive off of right tackle you should be able to figure out that the next play will be 2nd and 7-10. If something odd happens like you break one loose for a huge gain, then you can rethink the next call while they move the chains.

This is where I love Chip Kelly on the Eagles. His philosophy is that if a play goes for a huge gain just run up to the line and run it again.

and then fire him when this gimmick phase is over? come on guys with the spread....let's just get good at what we do, AND be more unpredictable.
Now, I do think it is time for a change on defense......and special teams...good god.
My number ONE thing though is to UTILIZE the damn running backs out of the backfield. They finally did the fullback last night...but fournette could be fantastic out of the backfield....Oh, and throw the damn ball on 6-8 yard routes to tightends over the middle....or anywhere.

Take my first 3 paychecks
Buy my dream car
Pass to the tight end every play out of the spread with Kragthorpe at qb (after feeding fournette 38 times a game)
Pay one of the golden girls for some fun.
Hold tryouts for the public to make dreams come true

First thing I would do would be to go to the Tiger Rant for advice on what to do next.

Ask Tubberville how that works out.

Sell beer in Tiger Stadium??

I'd take a pay cut and lower ticket prices.

QB development!!! Our guys have gotten worse as the season's progressed.

Jennings needs to stop being selfish on zone-reads. It seriously reminds me of JJ.

Fire Bradley Dale Peveto (Special teams coach). JJ must have shared his pictures of Les and Sheep with Bradley Dale

Find a way to get our best athletes on offense one on one situations. Even without throwing the ball deep, make the defense defend our athletes in space and not in a condensed area.
Get the ball to Dupre in space (bubble screen, end around, quick slant, etc.).
Allow Harris to run the read option with LF and Magee.
Move the pocket and give Harris some run/pass options.
Throw the ball out of play action early in the possession -- do not wait until after you have one first down to run play action.
**Realize that the defense is not going to keep the game close, much like 2008, you are going to have to score points**

Agree.

This won't end. Our QBs are not experienced enough to read defenses.

Keep Beckwith on the field instead of Welter.
Agree.

Meh...this is really not that much of an issue. We've had no f' ups in the return game all season....let's keep it that way.

Against Kentucky, pound the rock
Agree.

Agree. We are going to have to be much more balance on offense to have a chance against Ole Miss. Their D is very good and quit possibly the best in the nation.
We also need to start Harris. Harris can make all the throws needed to beat a defense like Ole Miss'.

Most of the time, AJ isn't "reading" anything.

Expect nothing from Miles, and if you get more than nothing, be happy with it.
