We still know very little about the nature of Genisys (*shudder*), but we do know that the lead actors are playing Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), John Connor (Jason Clarke), and Danny Dyson (Dayo Okeniyi) under the direction of Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor. Oh yeah, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is back.
Courtney recently spoke a bit about the film, revealing that the Terminator: Genisys rating will most likely be PG-13 and describing it as not exactly a reboot but not exactly a sequel either. Read on after the jump.
Speaking with The Arnold Fans (via CS), Courtney confirmed that this new Terminator film will follow in the footsteps of the last two features and will almost certainly be PG-13:

“I would love to see it be rated R, but I don’t think it will. I think in this day & age, it’s much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there’ll be a healthy amount of movie violence.”

Really both because there is going to be a Terminator 5 and it's going to be PG-13. They have ridden this franchise into the ground.

idk. i feel like if t2 was released today itd be close to a pg-13 rating. those movies arent that bad (as in graphic, nudity, language, etc.). you can get away with a lot now that you couldnt before

The blade through the skull part would not get a PG13 rating.

What? Arnold cutting his arm open and ripping off flesh to show he is a robot, the T1000 spiking people in the throat and eyes, people getting shot all over with big arse squibs popping blood, bodies vaporizing in a nuclear blast, a child being in serious danger the entire time, and the language would easily have it in R territory today.

Taken is pretty gruesome with violence and it was pg-13, which also had a young adult in danger the whole time and that danger was being a sex slave.
also, salvation was pg-13. i dont think the rating was why it sucked.

When an artist is limited and movies are cut to follow a rating, it sucks. Let the artist work.

The Dark Knight is PG-13...Magic trick, dude on fire, kid with a gun to his head, multiple deaths...it's possible to pull it off, but not likely.

It's all about the money folks and putting as many warm asses in cold theater seats as they possibly can.

I don't turn my nose at PG13 anymore, there have been plenty of PG13 films come out in the past decade that have brought the goods.
