ill just drop this little gem off right here and be on my way...

Ocean acidification has risen by a quarter since pre-industrial times as a result of rising carbon emissions, casting a shadow over the seas as a future source of food, scientists warned on Wednesday.
In the past two centuries, the sea's acidity level has risen 26 percent, mirroring the proportion of carbon dioxide it absorbs from the air, they said in a report to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) meeting in South Korea

Color me surprised.

Let's say I believe this. What would these people have us do to severely reduce carbon dioxide?
How much carbon dioxide is emitted by the billions of people on earth each day?

So let me see if I have this right.
A bunch of scientists are placing a massive carbon footprint in South Korea just to tell us that things are bad? Couldn't they have phoned that in?

Gots to keeps dat research money coming in.

Ocean acidification has risen by a quarter since pre-industrial times
So, assuming a baseline pH of 8.2, most folks would presume ""a quarter"" to mean that pH is now 6.1.
Perhaps BobBoucher is like most folks?
In actuality the bullshite OP wording belies the fact that IAW claims, "ocean" pH has dropped from ~8.2 to ~8.1. Doesn't sound quite so dramatic when expressed in standard manner . . . . and that is assuming the baseline is even accurate.

I'm shocked that absorption between liquid and gas phases we learn about in chemistry classes it true!!!

It's almost as if environmentalists, HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE frick THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.

It's gonna take allot of money and loss of personal freedoms to fix this.

I believe that "industrial and manmade CO2" is having much more of an effect on the oceans that the air. With that being said the so called enviromentalists do not have a real solution but just ways to raise taxes or get their buddies rich.
You want to reduce CO2 emmissions here is how:
1. Allow more fracking and drilling for NG. NG is the cleanest and cheapest energy source we have available at the moment.
2. Deregulate the nuclear power industry so that nuclear is cheaper
3. Use the $$$ generated from oil and natural gas royalities to fund research into "green energy"
4. Invest in fixing our broken road system so that congestion is reduced
5. reinstitute the hybrid vehicle tax credit that expired in 2011 for regular hybrids.
6. Approve more clean diesel and LNG engines for vehicles.
7. Punch Al Gore in the balls

You know, I went and hung out at our barrier islands last weekend (spent a lot of time soakin' in the gulf).
Later when I got home, I noticed my fingernails and toenails had disappeared.
Now it all makes sense!

No Ebola. No Immigrants .No panic.
Right wingers become so called experts over climate change , but lose their minds & become irrational /alarmist over a virus that will kill less people than the flu this year.

Let's be honest guys.
The chemistry does not lie. This does happen, on some level. You cannot deny that.
NOW.
The extent of that may be just a weeeeee bit overplayed
ETA
Speaking of weee, WeeWee is spot on
