IIRC, Wal-Mart coming out an supporting it was the tipping point to getting it passed. Even dems were saying that the bill was dead in the water if wal-mart didn't support it.

So its safe to say Wal-Mart is profiting off the bill, isn't it?

There are at least three alternatives to the ACA in the House.

But I agree. They need to conference on it and offer it up for a vote.

McCain's plan was to give the big government handouts without the mandate, and would have similarly failed if states had refused to do their part. The state-run risk pools for patients with pre-existing conditions, for instance - useless if not actually implemented. Regardless - NOT a universal health care plan.

will address that later. I have to pay attention in class now.

They certainly have plenty of time to bring repeal bills up for a vote.

The Republicans could probably get more of what their constituents want by offering a compromise bill that fixes some of the issues with ObamaCare. They won't.

For Wal-Mart, that push from the individual mandate contributed to an influx of workers who signed up for coverage, jacking up costs. Wal-Mart, the country’s largest private employer, with about 1.4 million employees, forecasts that its health-care costs will rise by $500 million more than it had expected in the year ending Jan. 31, 2015.

So they offered a plan and more workers signed up for it than they wanted. So they cancel the plan and blame it on ObamaCare?

That makes sense to you?

You make the mistake of assuming that conservatives support Big Business just for the sake of supporting it or having it in for the poor.

We are realistic and know that Business is going to do what is in its own best interest. This is a prime example.

The Right warned about the consequences of this government take over, and how the Poor would suffer disproportionately, but the Dems passed it anyway.

Don't be angry with us because we were right.

Yes, at the expense of those employees and the American taxpayers.

What kind evil, inhuman, fat monster would vote in support of such a bill?

Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, votes however a Spider-Pig does.

Can he swing, from a web? No he can't, he's a pig. Look out, he is a Spider-Pig.

Deflect away with 20+ year old political jokes.

Why can't you just say that you agree on a single point?

not when it costs 20k/semester.

The McCain plan would have let ppl buy insurance across state line which equals more competition which is always good for the consumer. The McCain plan would allow ind's to write off their health insurance the same as employees.

I had to bite my lip at the analysts of the Obama plan to keep from laughing. They were more off than a Monroe weatherman.

The whole thing needs to be scrapped. If it were a viable plan there wouldn't have to be so many delays and exemptions.

Besides, all it is a vehicle to push Single Payer.

Maybe this would be a viable idea, but you are either kidding yourself, or lieing to yourself if you think for a second that Reid would ever allow a compromise bill that dramatically changes ACA to the Senate floor for a vote.

Republicans in general aren't much better scum that Democrats, but Harry Reid is a pathetic person, and embodies the very worst of our government and country.

Well someone has enough cajones to admit that a private company is making a profit. Maybe you can tackle my other statement:

So they offered a plan and more workers signed up for it than they wanted. So they cancel the plan and blame it on ObamaCare.

Agree or Disagree?

What's funnier is that the Dems and the media will blame this on the companies, and by extension, the GOP, instead of placing blame where it squarely belongs.

I don't know if it's for profit, or they're just trying to control their costs.

All I'm pointing out is that the more government interferes in the Market the more Business will find a way to get around it. Prior to ACA they offered Health Insurance to their PT employees, when they didn't have to. Since the ACA, those guys are losing it.
