Agreed. I'm still fully on board but I just don't get this season.

Well, unless you know for sure that they will do a Batman movie/tv show where Ras asks Bruce to take the leadership, then be quiet. I, like many people who watch this show, have no prior comic knowledge and had no idea that this happened to Batman. So, I would like to see how it plays out on this TV show.

I thought his explanation to Thea was kind of lame. He said he didn't want Thea to have the guilt that he does for being responsible for their mother's and father's death. But he wasn't even responsible for their deaths. Ok, I guess I can see where he feels some responsibility for his mom's death (even though Slade killed her), but him feeling responsible for his dad's death is lame imo. I mean he didn't cause the boat to sink, that was Malcolm. And his dad shot himself to save Oliver.
But with that said, I think as it relates to the show, Oliver was just projecting his "fears" onto Thea. Everyone else is telling him he is crazy for that line of thinking. But Digs enlightens him that Thea isn't the only/real reason he went to Nanda Parbat, but that Oliver can't get away from the fact that he was no match for Ra's, and that messed him up. I think that "insecurity" is what will play on Oliver as the "Oliver being Ra's successor" storyline plays out.

Yeah, I thought his conversation with Dig made more sense. He wants revenge or at least another shot to prove himself. Having that sword driven through him had to have some kind of emotional impact (fear, doubt, etc..). He just can't more forward until things are settled with the league. Merlin's capture/death just wasn't enough to satisfy him..

I think the whole storyline is just an excuse to have John Barrowman around this season. He is a popular actor and all that. I still don't know how the guy is even alive after having an arrow driven into his chest in season 1.
Honestly this season has been a disappointment.

Season 1 is still one of my favorite seasons of a network tv show in awhile. Season 2 was on par, this season has been terrible.

This has been a down season for Arrow, but it still beats watching emo Barry Allen for an hour.
"My dad is in jail and I've been friendzoned. Waaaaah." - Every episode.

Oh, and "I have super sonic speed but rather than trucking bad guys, I'm going to come to a complete stop and try to punch them so I can lose and we can stretch this episode another 20 minutes."

Please, lets not turn this into a Flash vs Arrow shite fest of a thread.
On topic, I do feel this season has been weaker in some areas than season 2, its still easily on par if not better than season 1 though. They've delved deeply into the characters this season which I think has been fantastic, but at the same time they've sacrificed too much of the fun comic book feeling season 2 had. They've just gone a little too heavy on the angst and darkness this season.
The Arrow/Flash crossover proved that Arrow is at its best when its being serious, but not overly grim and depressing. They can still have fun, lighthearted moments, without sacrificing the tone of the show they're going for.

Season 1 was bad.
Bad writing.
Bad acting.
It didn't get good until about the last third of the season.
I was surprised it got renewed.
Season 2 was amazing. Frankly, It may be looked back as the high tide of the show.
This year has been uneven. Don't care about Atom. Don't care about Barrowman. The whole I'm in Hong Kong flashbacks parts are boring.
Honestly, I wish they would shift the focus to Canary and Arrow. How does she become such a bad arse. Clearly, she is no where near that right now. Each week should show her having her arse kicked currently.
Hope the season picks up.

Ok... On S3 now.
Is it wrong that I want to call one archer Upvote and the other one Downvote?

I also like Thea's character development. She hasn't been the spoiled little rich brat she was the first 2 seasons. And she is actually having some real reactions to the stuff that is being thrown at her. I loved the fact that she went directly to Laurel and told her like a woman what actually happened to Sara. It's a sharp contrast to the veil of secrecy and lies that Oliver always feels he needs to interject into these situations. And then her turning Malcolm over to Ra's in exchange for her and Oliver's lives was really the only logical choice any of them really had. And again, it is in sharp contrast to Oliver's decision to try and save everyone, including the man that was messed up enough to brainwash his daughter into killing Sara in the first place..
Now she went a little overboard with letting Nyssa out and telling her she actually shot the arrows. but I'll give her a pass on that one.
She seems to have actually grown up this season, and is actually making responsible decisions, unlike her brother.

Troubl, I don't know how much you know about this season, but I may have just thrown a spoiler out for you in my post above. You might not want to read it if you haven't already.
But what were your thoughts on the season 1 and season 2 finales? I know that season 2 is better than season 1. But I thought that the season 1 finale was better than the season 2 finale (although I loved the flashback and present time fight sequences, and how they synced them up in that final fight scene(s)).

Yea I don't ger why Oliver must lie about everything. I'm tired of it. Helping Merlin is dumb.
