Slidell
Bay St. Louis
Gulfport
Biloxi
Pascagoula
Moss Point
Mobile
Spanish Fort

And which one would you avoid like the plague?

Jesus these choices suck. I guess gun to my head I would say Mobile but I'm not even sure why. Lesser of all evils I guess?

Gulfport and Biloxi both have great places to eat and they have the casinos. Cruising the coast is a big event, but both cities have a ton of other events and things to do. Both places have some really nice houses both on the beach and on the back bay. Neither city has a lot of crime. They also have top notch schools.

Plus you are only a hour from NOLA.

If you live near the Old Town District in Bay it's pretty cool. Lots of cool bars.

I was going to do the same. I'd rather live with the previous poster and the Ebola man than live in B-town.

Is where I live, and it's very nice. I haven't been to all on the list, but BSL is WAY different than most of those. Houses are hard to find and very expensive right now though - for the good part of town. It's a great place though.

The only negative about Bay is the public school district. Compared to the other cities on the coast it is lacking. IMproving, but still behind.

It's complete shite. I have my boy in the Catholic school in town, and it's not much better. We may make the switch to the private school across the bay, but really we just try to educate him ourselves as much as possible.

This town is AMAZING for him to grow up in though, I wouldn't trade it for anything. So many people with kids his age, he loves to fish and ride bikes...

There's a great mix of people who are from here and convinced their spouse to move here, like me, and people from Stennis with oceanographer positions or the like. Plenty of bars and places to hang out. All biking and walking distance. It's beautiful too, if you stay in Old Towne.
