He decommitted when he took a visit to NCState on Saturday

This is what keeps me from going insane about Miles. The coach has his faults, but I have seen many of big time schools botch a coaching search.
for sho
you could end up with a Fran type that sets your program back 10 years.

my link says Monday night actually, but I'm sure you follow UM recruiting closer than I do

5* TE Chris Clark is going to decommitt as well. He just posted on his twitter that if Michigan fires Hoke "that changes everything". He chose Michigan over Ohio St and Michigan St.

I thought it was a terrible hire. He's had a couple of good seasons as a coach and several mediocre seasons. His recruiting has been imbalanced and his player development is non existent.
Agreed. It just seemed to be a transparent fallback hire after Harbaugh and Miles weren't interested.

Really chose Michigan over PSU and Bama

Miles wasnt a candidate

I never said he was.
That doesn't mean they wouldn't have considered him if he'd relayed discernible interest.

Just not an all around good coach. Especially for a school that has such expectations. Michigan is a national school with a powerful fanbase. When I worked on Wall Street it was full of Ross alums. Those people expect results. Not national championships EVERY year but that the OSU-UM game should be meaningful enough to have major implications.

He did have interest. He was not, and never was going to be a candidate last time. Brandon hates him. Brandon is team Lloyd/Moeller.

Chris Clark has taken multiple visits to Columbus. I think he ends up being a Buckeye.
I didnt say yall didnt recruit him. But you wernt in his top 3 when he committed. He will end up at Bama if we have room for him. PSU if we dont.

Okay, then that further proves that Brandon is one of the more incompetent ADs in the country.
Still, I have to believe that if Miles was trying to show interest, he was just trying to leverage it for a raise. He did the same thing with our job before we hired Bielema.

No debate from me there
ETA: Wouldnt be surprised to see Long replace him

Well he took the job the first time around, so I think it was a little more than just gaining leverage.

Agree about Clark. He's a douche anyway so Bama or PSU can have him.

No it isnt. Until the last cycle Michigan and State haven't been competing for the same kids on the recruiting trail. State has done a great job at finding lower ranked kids and developing them into great college players. Michigan has been recruiting the same blue chip kids that they always have. Both schools can be successful.
Agreed

The problem is Brady isnt a very good coach, and outside of Greg Mattison hasn't hired good assistants. The best coach outside of Mattison left because Michigan wouldn't give him a raise, and now they have a coach, coaching a position that he never has solely to keep him on staff.
Fred Jackson was a pretty good RB coach, and a nice guy, but apart from him and Mattison, that's definitely a concern. I'm surprised he didn't fire Funk along with A. Borges last year (wonder how he was as a recruiter, though). I also Forgot about Jerry Montgomery, but he left for OU a few yrs ago.

Was being the key word there
And I think Brady is a GREAT DL coach. I would like him and Mattison to switch jobs for the rest of the year.

Hoke is a career .500 coach. He had one good year at Ball State, jumped to SDSU for a year and then took the Michigan job.
