Michigan is still pulling kids out of Ohio. Higher ranked kids than MSU pulls.

Brody Hoke isn't developing the players. Good recruiter, good guy, zero ability to develop talent.

i agree. he does things that drive my fricking nuts, but be careful what you wish for. we could have some coaching savant and still lose more than 3 games a year.

Les is good, but comments like this are just naive. Name me one coach not named Coker or Muschamp that took over a team even close to the level of quality and depth that Miles did at LSU?

Michigan was in a tailspin, and that's what happens when bad hires take over messes, not teams primed for NC's.

Coker is a perfect example of this. He took over a NC contender from within and won titles then crashed and burned, but he's a HORRIBLE HC.

Michigan, Tennessee and Texas are jobs that were taken over when they were struggling, not powerhouses.

during the hiring process, he was very highly though of. everyone thought it was a slam dunk hire.

I don't know about this. He had a pretty small sample size from what I remember. I don't follow the B1G as closely as some in this thread but I certainly don't remember people going nuts over the hire and predicting Michigan to be back immediately

david shaw inherited a stacked program, has been a 2-3 loss per year guy, and everyone on this planet for some reason holds him to the highest esteem. i know its stanford, and they have limitations, but it also has big positives like smart players, players who show up to class/practice and do the right things off the field, dont have players leaving early for the pros, and richard sherman proves they arent all slow, terrible white guys on those teams.

That's a good point (although Stanford has lost as many guys to the pros as any program besides LSU). I think I stole the comparison from here but Miles is the Russell Westbrook of coaches. Does 90% of his job well but the 10% is so frustrating/obvious that almost nobody evaluates him properly and the haters have unlimited ammo. Sure, you'd like to trade him for Chris Paul (Saban) but if you're making a switch you're probably going to end up downgrading.
