Don't boo collegiate athletes. Ever.

I know there's a bunch of posts about this already but in my opinion, it can't be stressed enough.
LSU fans are known for being extremely passionate, welcoming, and supportive of their Tigers, no matter the circumstances. Last night, a national audience from the SEC Network saw something else. Jennings starts, and plays poorly, out of the same looking offense that Mississippi State demolished a week ago. Fans were (and probably still are) frustrated, and for good reason. Things needed to change, both with quarterback play, and with the play calling. Brandon Harris came in, the offense opened up, and the Tigers looked like a different team. It was great.
But think about this. If you're a highly rated recruit who was invited to come see the Tigers beat up on an overmatched opponent, and you hear the starting QB being booed off the field, would you want to play here? Look at it from a kids perspective. Would you ever want to play in what is known as the best environment in college football, only to hear disgust from your fan base for a couple plays that don't go as planned?
As Tiger fans, we need to have these kids backs. Jennings had a bad game. It just wasn't his night. He knows it, the coaches know it and the fans know it. But that's never a reason to boo. There is no reason. And I know some people will say "the boos were for the play calling" but how is a player supposed to know the difference? They hear boos after a bad play, they're gonna assume it's their fault.
I love our team, and I'll support them no matter what. We can do better than that. It doesn't need to happen again.

Since it's so easy for a player to discern who the boos are aimed at.
Why boo at all? Nothing even vaguely positive comes from it. All it helps is the ego of the person booing because they think they're doing something useful, when in reality they're just acting like an arse.

fyi, I booed the people booing

Hope you aren't expecting the trash that boo these kids to suddenly realize how trashy they are with this thread.

I agree, the boo's were unnecessary.
Thankfully my section didn't partake; however, a large contingent of students to the left of me did

How does one tell the difference?
Is there a different "boo" for the players and for the coach?

Didn't read that long arse post. The problem is the fans are booing the coaching decision and not the player. I know it doesn't matter b/c it will always look like the player is getting booed. I pay for my seat and have the right to express both my pleasure and disgust. If Miles weren't such a clown, this wouldn't happen.

To voice displeasure to a coach who has made repeated wrong choices out of stubbornness

And I have the right to say you're a shitty fan and maybe college football isn't for you if you boo your own damn team.

Its easy to spot the trash fans that boo. They are in full defense mode in multiple threads. They hate being called out for being the shitty fans they obviously are.
Sickening that a player has to say something about fans booing the players.
(Don't try that weak shite about "we were just booing coaches!!111")

Can I boo you for putting an apostrophe in a word that should be plural, not possessive?
All these boo threads are getting ridiculous.
Chicken needs a Boo board.
