Best/ biggest Gun Selection in Shreveport?

My MiL texted me earlier wanting to know what kind of pistol to buy for herself. She's taking a CC class this weekend and needs a pistol. I'm going to give her some recommendations, but would like for her to go deal with a store that has a good selection so she can handle a few to see what feels the best in her hands.

I can't imagine the outcome of me suggesting she go shopping with my pal from the Mecca, Ole Geauxt

Sadly, outside of a few pawn shops, Bass Pro and Academy are really the only choices. Bass Pro probably has the larger selection of the two.
There are not any large "gun shops" around here.

yeah, that might have been hard to splain.
after much further, detailed thought, at least a second or two, I can't think of any large reputable places in Sport City in line with Strop's Simmons, Mecca & west Mecca with Tp outdoors, , or even Crossett's Sport About.

Only local place I can think of worth checking out would be Lorant's. I've looked at guns there before, but never pistols specifically so I may be off base.

Probably going to be pretty high on prices. If I found something there I liked I would probably go find it at Bass Pro/Academy for less money or make the drive to Simmons, etc.

Agreed on BPS/Academy. Not sure it is worth it if you have to drive to Simmon's. That's a haul and a lot of gas $$$.

Can't post my video link right now (on phone) but I'm sure you've seen it before.

If she doesn't plan on carrying it exclusively, I would suggest she take the class with a full sized 9mm. It will be easy to control and won't have as much recoil as something small. If she hasn't shot pistols a lot, it will help her pass to use a large one.

Get her a S&W Bodyguard .380 and be done with it. Ive got one, its tiny. Easily fit in a small purse. I can carry it in my pocket or boot with no problem.
