Pain pills never helped when I had a pinched nerve in my neck
I used to work for a surgeon and he only prescribed pain pills for people that scheduled surgery. Pain management is your best bet

Regular doctors are not equipped to write prescriptions for schedule 2 narcs. Too much liability. Go to pain management.

I feel your pain.
I have an allergy to something in tylonol and Advil that makes it really hard to breathe. It's not the apap though bc hydrocodone works fine.
So anytime doctors read that allergy they immediatly assume I'm a pill head.
And my regular doc can still prescribe it.

I think this is what my in-laws are dealing with now. My FIL needs pain meds for hip and back but the doctor he's had for years now cannot keep prescribing him he meds he's been on. Instead he has to go to this "pain management" clinic and the doc tor there will be able to prescribe his meds. The problem though is there's like a month long wait for an appointment. From what my MIL has told me there are all sorts of hurdles to jump through.

Sure you can. They will want to see your file but it's not the Playboy mansion.
His regular doc will gladly refer him if he asks.
Despite what most people think opioid therapy is legitimate and the only option for many people in order to get relief.

I don't think that is true. My dentist perscribed me a few Lortab about a year ago. I'd be surprised if a general dentist had more 'perscription rights' than a GP (although I honestly don't know).

I'm not really sure. She just told us that due to OBamacare regs the doctor that he'd been going to for years now could not prescribe his pain meds and instead he now has to go to a pain management clinic.
