Perhaps most noteworthy, the states with the most players per capita are: Louisiana (1 NFL player per 73,119 people), South Carolina (1 per 85,655), Mississippi (1 per 92,728), Alabama (1 per 99,578), Florida (1 per 101,082), Georgia (1 per 101,975) and Montana (1 per 109,935).

thats nice and all, but id rather see where they went to hs. I was born in LA but moved when I was 4. So if i were playing in the nfl i dont think where i was born means anything at all.
per capita still doesnt tell the whole story. Like 11 players from LA got drafted last year, but 44 from Florida. That's 4 times the amount of players.

Nice, bout what i thought, still dominated by florida, cali and texas. Now if we want to go by LSU, you still have to take in account those other states have more than enough talent to fill up multiple teams. The problem with LA is you dont always have the positions of need every cycle because it is a smaller sate, like, qb, dt, lb. loads of athletes at the skill positions though, we have numerous kids that play qb in hs but either play wr or db at the next level.
Also look at where the majority of them are coming from, Nola area. Well hurricanes hit, kids move, schools close down and this was all at the beginning of Les' tenure. So with all of that hes done an excellent job imo and 2011 was really the first year you see LA loaded like it used to be.
