Ryno, I'm really curious why you aren't participating in this thread. I'm truly not trying to bash on you.

You are, with exception to GrandDad, the most negative person to post about the Luhnow regime. What would you do in the off season to "show the fans you are serious"?

Personally, I buy the best bullpen money can buy and maybe gamble on another low cost/ high ceiling type guy... Like mchugh.

Maybe try to get a stop gap 3b - but a low K guy to provide some help for Altuve.

I don't spend this year on big FA bat or SP. I wait for next year and go all in.

Of course, they also need to hire a manager. I say give it to Bogar.

There isn't any "experienced" manager out there that gets me excited.

Id like to see us get stopgap 3B that makes contact consistently and can move runners around. Don't need someone else who strikes out all the time. That and some bullpen help would be great.

A vet who can eat innings in the rotation and a veteran OF who can play all three spots would be nice but I don't see them as necessities and I'm not sure there's anyone who makes sense

3B: Headley would be great but don't see us spending that kind of money. It's also no guarantee he wants to come here also. He probably wants to go to a contender. There honestly aren't any guys here who interest me much unless we want to take a flier on someone like Callaspo, which might not be bad.

Bullpen just needs to be completely revamped. No use in breaking the bank on it IMO but they need to get at least two guys who can be reliable in the 8th and 9th. From looking at the FA list on traderumors there are a ton of familiar names so there's no excuse for the bullpen to be terrible again

There's a few OFs who could probably help us in LF, like Willingham or Morse, and fill in at DH or 1B but that's probably asking a lot for us as far as spending money and I'm not sure if it makes much sense since they probably want those ABs for younger guys

They sound like they're pretty committed to Marisnick for next year...so I don't think an OF bat is in their plans.

If we're going to add stroke to the lineup at all, it needs to be from the left side of the infield or behind the plate. The former of those being more likely.

I don't like spending big money on a closer (ie Soriano or Papelbon). I feel as though it's a waste of money. I don't mind them finding someone with a little experience closing to come in and take the reigns. I hope we bring back Vera's and Sipp.

I think a bullpen of:
Sipp
Veras
Qualls
Chapman
Peacock
Folty
And a cheap closer would do well. I don't think we should spend big on a starter for 5-7 years, those never work out after 30 (Sabathia and Verlander off the top of my head). I want to see us go after a high contact 3b/SS.

I'm willing to give castro another year behind the dish but won't be upset if they trade him. I like Stassi as his replacement.

OF is probably set. Springer, Marisnick, Fowler, Grossman, Presley

I like Marwin and Petit as utility guys and Corporan does a good job as the backup.

Take 2 out of 3 from the competing Mariners, drop 2 straight to the shitty Rangers 7th inning spring training squad.
