"Harris did it vs. a prevent defense"

Umm...isn't a prevent defense supposed to prevent exactly the type of plays that he was making?
I don't understand this argument.

FACT The D was much more predictable by that time in the game

I don't understand a coach playing back ups when his team was on the ropes at the end of the game. Oh wait no that was love the starting CB that dupre scored on.

Short and accurate, lol.

I'm as much a Harris fan as anyone, but you don't see how throwing against a 3-man front and 3-over-the-top is easier than a defense that's playing honest?

A team puts up some 4th quarter yards against us and then point out they got some yardage, we always say garbage time doesn't matter.
We do it in garbage time, and we get really really happy.
That said, we need a play maker on offense, Harris seems to have those qualities. Jennings is a game management type QB. We have an advantage in Diarse, Dupre, Dural, and Quinn...we need to take advantage of it and Harris seems to be the most likely to get the ball to them.

Sure you have more time but those defenses are meant to prevent big plays. Which is exactly the type of plays that we converted.
If he was making underneath throws I agree that it would be nothing to write home about.

that is a spectacular throw!

I just want the coaches to decide who is the better QB going forward...stick to it. You need reps not two guys getting jerked in and out. Make a call and stay with it.

I don't know if you realized but they have been doing that with Jennings this whole year.

This is huge and something that Jennings lacked all day.
Look, Brandon played great given the time of the game, the situation, and the defense. That said, if he throws up a jump-ball like he did to Dupre and it gets picked in a competitive situation, we look at that throw very differently.
I'm not saying to be pessimistic... just to look at it for what it was.

They were not playing prevent his first 2 drives.
There's a difference in full prevent vs. Cover 3 and Cover 4 zones

Oh, that throw works no matter the coverage, I don't deny the man can move it around. Anything less than a start and at LEAST 60% of snaps and 25 attempts next game is a crime.
The same goes for Beckwith and Rickey Jefferson. I have seen Welter and Martin trail a TD enough times.

For short throws... That's the point. He wasn't making short throws, his receivers were well into the coverage.

8 db's on the field and he shredded them
Posted on 9/22/14 at 7:37 pm to Powerman
Yeah. It showed his ability to go through his progressions. Something you don't see as much from AJ.
Posted on 9/22/14 at 7:38 pm to Powerman
Were they playing the same style of defense when they knocked AJ out of the game?
