Never said a damn thing about Saban being better than Miles at LSU. I am talking about beating coaches in our league. You know, beating other teams to get to championship games is why you get paid big bucks.

Let me give you some analysis:
Communist icons on your avatar, circular logic pattern - talks in circles without ever making a point, fails to grasp linear logic, refuses to accept facts that disprove preassumed conclusions, resorts to name calling when he can't win an argument...
Sounds like a Democrat Party underling.
The mental picture I am getting from this is not the footprint of a college football fan, but more that of disaffected bohemian who can't quite get over his father's disapproval.
quote:Why don't you stop being such a fricking idiot and stop attempting to get personal with me and just post the comprehensive statistics that back up your claim that Les Miles is anything other than an elite coach?
Are you special? If so, I'm sorry for making fun of you. Did your mommy not tell you that "fricking idiot" is considered resorting to cursing. That is a sign of adolescent anger management issues. It makes you appear petulant and does not help you make your case.

oh, so sorry I screwed up on one date pal. Is that the only thing you can criticize pal. The fact is that your boy is slipping. His quirkiness is laughable. His constant incoherent sentences and phrases are getting to be a joke. He may have a good win percentage, but he is one of the most stubborn coaches to ever coach the game.

you're getting your arse handed to you tonight Balls....face it . You're relying on old quantifiable data to justify the shite show we're currently putting on the field.
One has nothing to do with the other. Miles has been successful, we get it. But what the fk does have to do with the here and now. How long are you going to keep ringing that bell.
I believe the man has clearly passed his prime. No one would dispute the record of Jo-Pa but the game passed him by and penn st suffered as a result. He can still clearly recruit with the best of them but has absolutely no clue how to best maximize their talents once they get here.
It's hard to look at the future of the program (which is all I care about at the present) and not be a little disillusioned.

So do you have an answer to my question in the OP? When's it going to happen?
When are the on-field results finally going to reflect the opinion to which you people have been fiercely loyal for almost a decade now?
Tell me. I'm dying to know.

37-19 vs ranked teams. One SEC coach has a more impressive such record. Unless you count Gus at 5-2.

If Les continues on his 8-5, 9-4, maybe even 10-3 path- he will have a great W-L record - will that be enough for everyone? Would it be time to give someone else a shot or will you be happy with a coach with a good record?
Answer my question please

Ok I'm late to the party....what is it you want me to tell you? You and I both know it won't matter how I answer because it will be wrong...but I'll take a swing.

Can't find it? Keep looking.

While most fans in this thread are Bashing Miles they are deferring from the question posed by the OP - what are your answers for the future? And I would suppose one response would be there are a number of coaches who would do better in the same situation.
I think history shows differently. Other than maybe Saban who everyone knows is off the table, there is no other coach who has as proven of a record against top teams.
This is a rebuilding year and Les needs at least this year and next year. The season just started we are extremely young and I haven't given up on this team and neither should any REAL Tiger Fan!

I think you're interpreting people's concern for the current state of the program as some kind of backhanded slight to Miles previous record....which by the way, no is disputing.

This isn't the 90's with a bunch of mediocre teams and one Florida.
FTR, three SEC teams won NC's in the 90's:

UF '96

In the decade that followed ('00-'09), three SEC teams
LSU '03, '07
UF '06, '08
Bama '09

Haha. Your blind hatred is commendable. The OP wasn't even the one that called you out on the date mistake.

I think you're interpreting people's concern for the current state of the program
But Miles-bashers are such delusional cowards that they won't answer it because they see Miles' record, and they know it's better than anything else at LSU before, and they know that it is more likely that that success continues than the program falters to an unrecoverable-unless-a-change-is-made depth.
They know it. That's why they won't own up to it. Pussies.

That list is more impressive if you correctly make the decade go from 1-10.
Edit: Also goes to show how much more difficult the Conference is now than it was before for previous coaches, even the one the current coach succeeded here at LSU.

Really? That coach just won three of the last five NCs.

I think you're being as short sighted as the people you're trying to expose.
W/L doesn't have the same weight in this day/age of scheduling. You can set up a schedule to be successful and still fail as a program.
LSU changed their goals with their early 2000's successes. Therefore you can win 7 games and keep your % up and still be failing.
My answer to your question would be when those wins or losses stop/start coming against significant opponents in meaningful games.
Hypotheticals here, but I wouldn't argue to get rid of a coach who had one or even two 7-5 seasons with a track record like Les, but three years of 7-5 ball, which I would assume would put a school like LSU out of the conference championship running would make me want to make a change.
LSU has too many opportunities/resources available to dip below 8 wins on a consistent basis.
I know that didn't answer your question, but I think you've stacked the deck with history to make it an obvious non-answer.
To flip it around, how long can a coach trade on past successes in your book? Is it a lifetime contract for a national title?
Just wanted to jump in the pool too.
