Solid movie. Still trying to process and remember everything, but here are a few initial thoughts.
The score is brilliant. Really, reeeeeally good. It sets the mood throughout the movie and keeps you on the edge of your seat. In many ways, for me, it made the movie. I haven't appreciated, noticed, or felt as moved by a score since Inception.
Rosamund Pike will be a star after this. Word will get out, and people will flock by the millions to see this movie in theaters. She and Affleck both killed it (no pun intended). Amazing acting (pun intended). But, seriously, really well done.
There is a lot of humor in this movie. It sarcastically mocks many aspects of everyday American life, and does a fine job doing so. The book did this also. Some parts, particularly toward the end, were very funny (sometimes in a sinister sort of way). Unfortunately, I think much of the humor was over the audience's head, because a lot of times I was just about the only one in the theater laughing (me and this one other guy).
I couldn't tell for sure how coherent the whole story was. Having read the book, I always knew where the movie was coming from / where it was going, so I was able to follow everything. I'll be curious to hear whether non-book readers were able to follow everything. I felt like it might've been a bit jumpy in parts.
One negative: The dialogue, in many places (especially in the first 30 minutes or so), felt like it was written by a book-writer - which, of course, it was. It felt forced, phony, unnatural in a few scenes. Like, people would never talk like that IRL.
Overall, very solid. I had built immense hype for this movie, and for the most part it lived up to it. 7/10
For those who have seen it: Please do not post spoilers in this thread. Or, if you must, advise me in advance to update the thread title. Wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone. Thanks.
ETA: One other thing. Emily Ratajkowski's "giant 'cum on me' tits," as expected, were amazing. Luckily, the movie didn't require her to do much acting.

That's just one man's opinion. Take it FWIW.

Great movie. Surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Silence of the Lambs good.

Man, I can't get over how much I liked it. Just got home from it. I didn't read the book btw. I loved how it was always ahead of me. Just when I got focused on something, something new comes up and changes everything. As far as Fincher's films, I thought it was better than TGWTDT and on the same level as Zodiac

Lol. No. Twists in these kinds of movies are expected. If anything this one is predictable.

Is it true Affleck goes front nudity?
I dont need to see that garbage.

Not exactly but generally yes.

Predicting that a movie will be unpredictable =/= a predictable movie.

I didn't get to catch it tonight. Will definitely go tomorrow. Can't wait.

No. No big penis scene.
But wear your NOT GAY baseball cap, just to be sure.

One thing I'll say about this movie: Two and a half hours never flew by so fast! Normally, that's a very long movie, but not with this one. It flies by. That's a huge compliment.
I even felt a little disappointed in NPH's role. I felt, based on the book, his character could've been better developed. He wasn't quite sick enough for me in the movie. But, damn, at 2.5 hours, I guess you're going to have to start cutting certain things.

Evidently people aren't seeing the penis because in that brief moment your attention is drawn to something else going on in the shot. So if you want to see the Affcock, you have to focus on Ben for every second of his nude scene.

I, for one, have been waiting for Affcock for years!

Canal Place is almost completely sold out. Damn.

Oh my God. This should win best picture. It probably won't, but it should. I was making audible sounds throughout the movie, and I went alone, so I wasn't trying to share it with anyone.
Wow. Unreal.

I'm going to have to read the book now. I'm interested to see how the story is written. It felt perfect for a movie.
