This is NEW DIVERSITY.
Read the OP again.
Unfortunately I read it too many times hoping I would eventually uncover something substantive, but nope. Just a faulty premise and erroneous assumptions.
quote:
You have just proved my point. Harvard is doing NEW DIVERSITY. Poor people that goes beyond merit, beyond race, beyond gender, etc.
No, they aren't, this is the faulty premise I was referring to. Link to back up these claims?
Of course this isn't surprising since you weren't even aware of Harvard's recent, and unique, changes to their financial aid practices. Thats very important context here that you are lacking, Zach.
You are arguing that Harvard, when deciding between two applicants, will choose the less-accomplished one if that individual is poor to add "diversity." Where are you getting this from, since you have yet to provide a single link in this thread?
The truth is, they choose the better candidate, and if that person cannot afford Harvard, they give them generous need-based aid. There is absolutely nothing wrong or discriminatory about that policy.

No, it's not a faulty premise nor erroneous assumptions. It's very obvious to everyone here except you. I would call you a moron but that would be unkind.

Already beat that argument. But you missed it.

NYT. Look at the OP. I read it every day at Starbucks. Do your own research if you can't afford the paper.

I tried. I couldn't get through to your thick skull. Have a nice day while other posters assume you are an idiot.

But let's be clear, it's a lot easier to be impressive if you are rich.
