According to Hitfix.com's Gregory Ellwood, insider buzz is that Interstellar is a masterpiece. All polled people gave all out raves. They are not connected with the studio whatsoever.
There were apparently secret showings and there's a secret screening on London IMAX coming up.
I am going to go fap.

Is this where the Nolanites hang out?

I'm worried there may be too much sad shite in it for me. I can't handle that.

Suppose, for a moment, the movie lives up to, and even exceeds the hype. Suppose it truly is a "masterpiece."
Will that establish (or solidify) Nolan as one of the great film directors of all time?

I didn't know you were a Nolanite, too. Welcome to the club.

Is this the appropriate place to repost Freder's Nolan timeline?

Christopher Nolan film Timeline:
1. The Internet jizzes all over itself in anticipation.
2. The Internet jizzes all over itself after seeing it and declares it the Greatest Film of All Time.
3. The Internet will discuss the inevitable ambiguous ending ad nauseum.
4. The Internet will declare the film to be overrated and will proceed to pick apart the various and insignificant plotholes ad nauseum.

I'm pretty pumped for this film, but he has a lot of work to do.
He's still made under 10 movies, only 3 of which are legitimately great films. (9 movies to be exact)
Kubrick made what 14, with probably 10 true to form great movies.
The pace of current directors is too slow to match up with some of the greats. And there's almost too much "stuff" out there for anyone to be truly innovative. Nolan can get there one day. One day.
But I figure the fans will shoot him up to Hitchcock status quickly if they don't already.

I read a synopsis of it on online before it was taken down and if it was for real, then it should be pretty good. That's all I'm going to say.

No jumping ahead to Step Three!

Although it's funny, Inception had a very clear ending. For that matter so did the Prestige. And Memento.
Time to break the internet.

FWIW - The "actual" beginning of Memento is ambiguous...and the "unseen" middle of The Prestige is... All the endings are pretty straightforward.

No doubt that this one, as sure as the sun will rise in the east, will happen

Nolan's Superhero movies weren't great, so he has to overcome that. I enjoy Nolan movies, but he is far from the greatest director of all time. Not even the greatest directer currently.
