Mike Detillier picking MSU

Mike Detillier was just on espn radio here in Jackson, MS and is pretty confident that MSU is going to beat LSU. He gushed about how this was LSU's best secondary ever but that State's front 7 was going to shut LSU's offense down. How Dural was fast but that he wouldn't be able to make a big enough difference. He's always been high on Chris Jones at MSU. It seems he has his stance on a team or player and rides it just because.
He comes the radio show here once a week and it seems like based on what he says, that he doesn't actually watch any games but just grabs the headlines or quick hits and then runs with his opinion. I guess its just surprising because he's supposed to be some local, LA, expert on LSU and Saints.

It's going to be a close game. People will pick MSU. It's not crazy.

This is my concern for the game. Through three games we have not shown the willingness to keep defenses honest (well, maybe against Sam Houston, but does that even count?). If ULM can stiffle our running game, I fear that the Bulldogs may as well.
Not saying that they will, just that I'm concerned about it.

if lsu comes out and plays sloppy i could see one thinking it'll be close at the end and maybe state squeaking out a win
but to come out and be confident that MSU will beat LSU....that seems like he's trolling for hits

Not too worried, he picked the Saints over the Browns in a rout last week as well. Not sure why he thinks Mississippi St. can shut down LSU's offense, they're averaging giving up almost 400yds to some pretty crappy teams.

I personally think Mike D is an idiot and when he's on local radio, i listen to something else.

Listening to a conversation between him and Bobby more than 30 seconds can cause permanent brain damage, seriously.

Even if LSU's offense struggles, MSU isnt going to put up many points against LSU's Defense. I only see MSU winning if their D-line dominates, they make a big play on special teams, and they win the turnover battle.

Until LSU proves me wrong, I am almost certain of this.
Our O-Line has done practically nothing to inspire confidence. Wisky, with a revamped front 7, flat our dominated our line for nearly the entire game and ULM gave us fits.
State's D-Line is legit. If LSU comes out in I-formation and tries to make this a physical game, I predict a long game for us.

I don't think the ULM game is a qualified sample to go by in talking about MSU v LSU. LSU just lined up 2 TEs ran it most of the time with ULM in box and kept running. Mix in a few dropped passes and LSU only scored 10 instead of more. Lets not forget that ULM beat and ACC (all be it a lower one) on the road. So it's not like ULM is an awful team. LSU didn't need to get fancy against ULM. They just wanted to win and not get anyone hurt. Why give MSU more film to look at. MSU couldn't cover UABs receivers so why does everyone thing that Dural, Diarse and so on can't put up yards on MSU?

the worst part about Mike D is he will make the same point 7 times in a row. He wont even really change up his wording. He just says the same thing over and over.

It's going to be a tough test for LSU's young bucks,no doubt.
