Sharing casino winnings with co-worker

I am passing through Biloxi while traveling for vacation and stopped at the casino. I had asked a coworker if he wanted me to use his $25 free play. I won $1100 on a slot machine, would you share and if so how much? Would you even tell him? People in car have differing opinions.

I'm not trashy so I'd never be in this situation.

Hand him $50 and say you doubled it for him.

What was he going to do with the free play before?
Simple answer is to come clean and offer him 550, and hope he isn't a jackass and tries to take more. 550 is still good considering you won it at the expense of nothing.

Split is the only answer here

Did you have to pay taxes on it right there? I'm not aware of how that goes down.
Was it all off of his $25?
If it was all off of his $25 and no taxes taken out, then I would give him no less than half, depending on what kind of person they are to me and others on the job.
Y'all, helped each other if it is only off his $25, because he wasn't going to play it otherwise. I would go back hand him half and he will be happy and if not oh we'll.

He was not planning on using it and it would have gone unused.

And you wouldn't have won if he hadn't given it to you. That argument goes both ways. You split it. Period.

Didn't have to pay taxes, only on anything over $1200, if it would have been $1200 or more I don't know if they would have paid me because I had his card in the machine and it would have had to be hand paid. Does anyone know of they still pay you if your using someone else's players card?
Yes, it was all off his $25 free play

How long did you play? If you played for awhile, dont split it right down the middle because he gets the points. Give him $500 and keep $600 and buy him lunch. That way ypu both still come out way ahead. Nobody should complain.

How much did you spend out of your pocket?
If you threw down a grand then the $25 was nothing more than helping your friend out.

Yeah I agree, just looking for opinions

This is irrelevant because of the randomness of slot machines. If he won the money off of his buddies $25, then that's the money that got him the money. It doesn't matter how much he put into it prior to winning. Your odds don't increase by how much money you "invest" into a machine, no matter what some people think.

Won within 10 minutes of sitting down, quit right after. Only reason we stopped was to spend the night and I was killing time

I think it does matter. It appears the OP didn't have much intent to gamble and did use the friends money as a major part of his gambling.
Should have been discussed before using the $25 and not after.
Easy thing to do. When you get back let the friend make the decision. Hand him the cash and say this is what WE won.

I don't know how the cards track the plays and wins but I don't think I would bs him on the deal.
