I know that I'm a tad bias , but when you say boring beer, what is boring about it? I have always been curious to know when people describe a beer as "meh" or "boring" what they finding lacking with it?

Ususally just a boring style. The best Blonde in the world is still just a blonde. I've never seen people camping out for a Blonde release or getting into arguments about which is the best Blonde in the world.

myopic wanna be mavens who think if a beer isn't an unobtainable whale then its "meh" or "boring"...this kind of crap just kills me about the craft beer crowd these days.

I think it is because most people have a very difficult time appreciating the subtleties of flavor in lagers and lighter ales. They fail to realize and understand the difference between quality of flavor and intensity of flavor. IMO a very well-done lager is every bit as difficult to produce as a great IPA. Give it a few years and all the hop-heads will be hopped out and clamoring for lagers...

The style, as it is, is boring IMO. Similar to every black lager I've ever had. There's very little complexity and not much that stands out in the beer. I would say the exact same thing if we were talking about sam adams black lager or Rahr's ugly pug. Both of which I've had and found nothing exciting about.

Even if parish brewed one I'd have it once for sure, then most likely not seek it out again.

Basically, I'm not hating on the beer, I'm hating on the style.
