Florida State is proceeding with a school investigation of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston related to the alleged rape of a fellow FSU student in 2012, an attorney for the woman told USA TODAY Sports.
Florida State officials traveled to where the woman lives in early August to interview her for the first time since she reported the alleged assault to police in Dec. 2012.
"They assured us that the Title IX process was going to move forward," said John Clune, a Title IX attorney representing the woman. "The interview went pretty well. I think it was a positive experience, and everyone felt like the university was taking it very seriously."
Clune said the lengthy interview with his client gave FSU more information than it previously had from the Tallahassee police department investigation. He said FSU officials interviewed two other people but that he does not know if Winston has been interviewed.

So we hear about all the universities that are suspending or expelling men accused of rape without a trial, and then we have this case.

thought he'd done something new.

They'll need a binding resolution to get Jameis out of FSU.

Damn. I think this more insulting then just sweeping it under the rug.

I seriously doubt it.

ok, its pretty god damn ridiculous that the school hasn't even talked to the girl at this point.

In other words they will wait until the season is over or they lose one game.
Then justice will be served!

They will remove his eligibility - right after he declares for the draft in January.

This won't end well for FSU. Couldn't they get sued like Missou for breaking Tittle 9 laws?

fricking incredible that they didn't even attempt to do this when it was in the national news... If they had any desire to truly do something, they would have.
This is a slap in the face that they are even bringing it up now. They have no intention of finding out the truth and should have just sat on their hands.

Why are they continuing to drag this out?

Exactly, they would have been better off letting it die on the basis of "The authorities did their investigation and there is no need for us to" rather than rehashing it.
There was shadiness going on during the original investigation, whats to think this would be any different... Although, how fricking funny would that be if they come back and rule that he did sexually assault her after the boosters/cops did their best to torpedo everything.
btw, I am almost certain it isn't the case, but if they do rule that he committed a crime and deserves a suspension, would they forfeit the games or would it be from now on out? Id think now on, being that it isn't a NCAA investigation

They stall and silence and sit on their asses when it's all going down. Then the police decide not to press charges, case closed. Then a year later the school starts up the investigation again? It makes no sense.

FSU is apparently following the actions of the Obama administration, IRS and DOJ. Keep putting things off until people raise hell then slow play the investigation.

So they're playing him despite the fact that they're investigating something about him that could hurt them in any game he played in?
