I'm thinking you should find other interests. Sports aren't for you.

Reading the lovefest in this thread, if I knew nothing about LSU I would think Miles had won multiple national championships in his 9 full seasons instead of one two-loss championship and an embarrassing defeat in a championship game. Just saying that the over-the-top lovefest doesn't exactly match up to the actual success.

No1. Year after year after year, Les Miles' teams have won the most games of anyone in the SEC while playing the toughest SEC schedule, unlike Saban.

No2. Miles' team went undefeated playing the toughest schedule in the entire country, his reward was having to prove he could defeat the next best team in America, a second time.

How you do not have respect for such a coach? You're a fricken douche!

You guys are cracking me up.

Apparently there's no middle ground where Les is concerned. If you don't like/support him absolutely 100 %, you're automatically labeled an ignorant, uninformed, worthless, POS unfit to continue living.....oh also, with no joy in your life.
On the other, if you support him......you eventually MUST evolve into an over-bearing, thin-skinned, hyper-sensitive, insecure, statistical-spouting, abrasive douchebag.

This will continue to be one of life's great mysteries!

When Les finally retires, we're all gonna be nothing but miserable wretches!

Such a fricking cop-out. Valid criticism is always welcome. He's pissed me off more than a number of times in the last 10 years.

But I'm not so foolish as to fail to recognize that he's accomplished more than any other coach in LSU football history, and that when looking at the big picture nationally and as far as LSU football history is concerned, he's a goddamn great coach and we're beyond lucky to have him.

I'm messing with u 06.....I don't hate the man at all despite what y'all think.
I think he's a good coach who's done a good job during his tenure. I won't use the word great because he hasn't won multiple titles like paterno/Bryant/saban/Switzer/Meyer/Bowden/Osborne/etc. When he does, no one should have a single solitary complaint about his status in Tiger lore.
In the meantime, fans are going to rag on him for some of the goofy, silly, shite that he does.v

Yo redneck. We're on the same side here. despite your limited grasp of this concept.
I'm just yanking chains in fun..... There's no great conspiracy theory in play here dude. If you've followed the SEC long enough, you'd know this is just the status quo!

Badger fan - Most of the fan bases in the SEC have felt like we do right now at some time over the last 10 years thanks to Les Miles, More strange things happen in games he's involved in. Delay of game on a kickoff, that's just hilarious.

Miles drives all fans crazy, how does Les win more games in the toughest division of the toughest conference than any other coach, yet he's still not considered a great coach by some Tiger fans? The whole situation is hilarious.

I think what it is is not the fact that people have to support him absolutely 100%. It is more that that a good mixture of the negative posters or bashers are run or the mill internet trolls and a lot of their stuff gets kind of stale. I actually kind of enjoy skilled trolls when they display some panache. But those are few and far between. (And yes, there are trolls on the other side also with pretty much the same impact).

So many things to pick apart here. Let me start by saying that all I said was that the lovefest did not match the actual success. I never said I don't respect him. You clearly subscribe to the mindset that you are either 100% in love with Miles are you are 100% against him. Believe it or not, there is an area in-between. I even went on to call him a good coach in a later post.

Second, I love how you pretend that Saban has been coaching Bama as long as Miles has been coaching LSU. Saban joined Alabama in 2007 and since then has won more games than Miles. I think by toughest schedule you mean the inclusion of Florida instead of Tennessee. I will give you that most years but that is one game each year.

2011 regular season was exceptional and I loved it until the championship game ruined the entire season for me. I will give Miles a lot of credit for that season. But it's not like it has been replicated. It's not like that is the product Miles turns out year in and year out. We should not have had to play Alabama that year and I was as pissed as anyone. I do think we beat Okie State going away that year. But the fact is that we did have to play Bama again, they adjusted and we didn't and we got embarrassed.

But you take my fair criticism of the man while calling him a good coach as me not respecting him. You then attack me personally by calling me a "fricken douche." Why it was necessary to get personal is beyond my level of understanding. I just enjoy discussing football and keeping the discussion on topic.

It is a curse but nothing I can do about it. I turned 17 in 2000, so I did not really care pre-2000. I had two older brothers go out of state for college and my dad never once took me to an LSU game or really even discussed LSU with me. All of my dad's family is from Texas and no one in my mom's family cared one iota about football. I did not grow up an LSU fan. I became one when I attended the university for the first time in 2001.

There you have it, you are simply a spoiled rotten kid. That explains a lot. When you grow up you'll get some perspective.

You will have a miserable life as a fan if all that matters to you is championships because each year only one team gets that. You might even win NegaTiger of the year multiple years so I guess you'll be happy with those championships.

Yeah, it's a little hard to seriously consider and respect "rational criticism" from someone that admits to ONLY being happy with national championships.

He's not beating the Rose Bowl champion, the Orange Bowl champion, and the National Champions every season? That's what he's supposed to live up to every season for you to be happy?

You have no idea how miserable it is for me to follow sports. I love football, college and professional. But I can't enjoy it without my team winning it all. I can't stand a single loss. I can't even stand to see my QB throw a pick. I usually end up turning off the game and periodically checking the score. I try to just enjoy the game but winning it all matters too much to me.

Randomly? You might call it random if it was an outlier occurrence. But with a sample size like this, it is more properly called "regression to the mean"
