“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has a prescription for how to handle Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants: “Convert them or kill them.”
Appearing on Fox News on Tuesday evening, the reality television personality quoted several verses from the Bible and asked why ISIL harbors hatred for the U.S. even as the military has increasingly withdrawn from the region.
Host Sean Hannity argued that ISIL is “at war with us” and creates a significant threat to the U.S. and Israel, regardless of how the Obama administration or the American people view the group.
“You either have to convert them — which I think would be next to impossible. I’m not giving up on them, but I’m just saying, either convert them or kill them,” Robertson responded, likening ISIL militants to “street thugs on steroids.”

ETA: Unless Robertson isn't speaking in religious terms, but I don't see how he isn't considering his religious background.

Convert them but not to Christianity. Would he be OK with Judaism or Buddhism? of course not. Then kill them all

Last week on the PT: "Phil Robertson is an irrelevant hillbilly that shouldn't be taken seriously because of his racist/sexist/xenophobic comments"!!!
This week on the PT: "Phil Robertson comments on national security issues harumph harumph rabble!!!"

I say just kill them. At least he's giving them an out. He has a lot of faith in Christianity.
Do you disagree with him?

This is proof all Christians are just as evil as Muslims today.
Couple that with PR most likely being a Tea Party supporter.
This is the reason for all of the violence in the US.

He speaks the truth. You either eradicate them or accept battling them until the lights go out.

I think this is the best way to combat IS. IS isn't compatible with humanity. Change or die

So he voiced his opinion? Good for him.
Honest question...Why does his opinion even matter to anyone on this board?

this great Christian man is literally no different than radical Islamic fundamentalist at his core.

“You either have to convert them — which I think would be next to impossible. I’m not giving up on them, but I’m just saying, either convert them or kill them,”
If he said this then he sounds just like them. We Christians are not to kill or convert. We are commanded to spread the Gospel truth and salvation through Jesus Christ is that Gospel truth. Christians however do not convert anyone, as only the Holy Spirit brought to a person by God, can a person be turned and brought into HIS Kingdom. We do not have the right to kill anyone based on their belief non belief.
That is what Christians aught to get from their faith.

That mindset is kind of how ISIS formed.
But I'm not surprised ole Phil doesn't see the stupidity in that statement.

Phil Robertson doesn't want to wage any war at all - he wants others to wage it for him.

We all want ISIS dead.. what's the problem?

Lol at OP et al for interpreting Robertson's statement as convert to Christianity or die. That interpretation makes zero sense unless you think that's his stance for all peoples,
More sensationalism.
More sensationalism.

Necks gonna neck.
Seriously though, he represents a subsect of the population that, quite frankly, has no business involving themselves in matters too big for their inadequate minds.

Well from what I read, I did not see anywhere un your post where he said convert them to christians
Could he have meant convert them ( FROM TERRORISTS ) or kill them?
I mean you know it alls seem to be able to read peoples minds.
